An Agilent Field Service Engineer supporting Biomolecular, Genomics, and Cellular Analysis instruments will travel to customer's laboratories to install, maintain, and repair the Agilent instruments. These instruments are critical tools in the research, development, and manufacturing for several key areas including Cell and Gene Therapy, Infectious Disease, Virology and Vaccine Research, Immunology, Immuno-oncology, and Immunotherapy, as well as Next Generation Sequencing, and Pre-Natal Disease Detection.

Responsible for on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of Agilent's Biomolecular products to include, but not limited to, BioTek instruments, Fragment Analyzers, Automation, Seahorse XF, Bioanalyzer and Tape-station systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business
  • Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and applications software
  • Serves as an internal resource on technical issues. May train other field engineers or customers. May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.
  • Works on on-site customer service and support assignments with broadly defined objectives and solves non-routine issues, challenges and problems within field of specialization.
  • Boston Area Territory - must reside near Territory Qualifications
    • Bachelors or master's degree within the science field - e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry biochemistry, biotechnology or similar
    • Ability to work through complex repairs, installations, and scheduled services (PM/OQ) in a customer facing capacity
    • Ability to tackle, high impact problems related to product availability; typically system/ solution focused
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
    • Strong customer relationship skills are needed to be successful
    • Must be available to travel 75% of the time, travel may be local or require routine air travel.
    • A valid driver's license is required
    • 6 month + of experience in a similar position or experience as an end user, including familiarity with analytical instrumentation, automation and dissolution preferred
    • A valid passport is preferred

      Must consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, customer health and safety requirements, etc.
