Director of Product Management: Supplier Onboarding, Operations

Job Description:

Wayfair is looking for a senior product leader to streamline, optimize and automate Supplier Onboarding for Operations in order to efficiently and effortlessly guide our suppliers toward signing up for Wayfair and subsequent services. This role will manage both internal software platforms and external front end experiences to weave the best customer experience possible. This role will have a direct impact on our inbound funnel and revenue actualization opportunities.

The Director of Supplier Onboarding, Operations will oversee several work streams across US and Europe, including:


  • EDI Platform: A core operational platform responsible for transmitting data to and from our partners. This platform empowers other divisions by letting them operate independently, promotes standardizing document types to decrease setup times and externalizes ways to automate syntax and connection testing. This role will be responsible for taking a complex platform and managing dozens of internal stakeholders and ensuring our external partners can operate with it effortlessly

  • API Platform: A next generation graphQL platform that supports API adoption throughout Wayfair but also expands our API catalog for internal and external partners. API represents the final frontier of upgrade pathing

  • Supply Chain Onboarding (Dropship/Castlegate/Asia): Weaving the above platforms together to create an effortless onboarding experience for our partners and utilizing other core architecture throughout Wayfair to make the process that much more efficient. This division will deal with everything from contracting to user creation to warehouse set up in order to ensure our suppliers can sign up for the services they want, when they want it.

  • Custom Integrations: A dedicated division that works with our most sophisticated suppliers, building end-to-end customer experiences for industries like Appliances. This team leverages the above platforms and unique configuration platforms that are proprietary to Wayfair.

  • 3rd Party & Next Gen: A forward looking team dedicated to bypassing standard operating procedures of today and finding new ways to connect with partners through 3rd party intermediaries or direct connectors like ERPs and WMS. This team works and manages vendor relationships but also procures new partnerships, with the end goal of having an integration hub so any partner can connect to us, any way!

    What Youll Do


    • Partner with cross-functional senior leaders to define and align business and product vision, strategy, optimization, and execution



      • Create and maintain a product platform roadmap and regularly update to key partners and stakeholders



        • Develop and mentor a team of 15+ product managers with indirect responsibility for 50-80 additional cross-functional scrum members.



          • Manage cross-functional teams in planning, prioritization, and product delivery including engineering, operations, operations research, and storefront experience.



            • Define and measure business impact, monitor performance of initiatives and communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders



              • Leverage data to understand risks, impacts, scope and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results



                • This position will require frequent travel to sites through North America and Europe.

                  What Youll Need


                  • 10+ years Product Management experience across both start-ups and large companies or experience with new products/initiatives within large companies.



                    • 5+ years experience successfully coaching teams that are highly effective both in terms of impact and team culture.



                      • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills with hypothesis-driven problem solving and turning data into actionable insights.



                        • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.



                          • Strong technical background, with ability to partner effectively with both engineering and operations research / data science.



                            • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in high-growth environments at scale.
