Vice President Account Director (Medical Communications) (Medical Communications - Healthcare Communications) We have an excellent full time permanent staff role available with a premier Medical Communications company for a VP Account Director (titles vary from company to company). This role is strictly focused within medical communications / healthcare communications driving organic growth of existing client accounts. This position will act as the agency source for meeting client's brand objectives and report directly to SVP Management. Individuals will have experience working hands on with the client to provide strategic direction and directing the internal team to achieve tactical execution. Job titles vary across the industry so Client Service Director, Group Account Director, Client Services Director; VP Account Director etc. are all urged to apply. The responsibilities and client services experience within a medical communications company is required. Applicants will have a strong background & foundation in Speaker Bureau focused accounts, with the proven capability of organically expanding existing client accounts.   • Lead the development of innovative communications plans for assigned clients
  • Strong strategic planning and tactical execution experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience with marketing
  • Manage the client/agency relationship to ensure that strategic expectations and creative deliverables are being met for our pharmaceutical client's initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts or a very large agency account
  • Work with the client to create an overall tactical plan that supports and drives the brand messaging and achieves the client's objectives.
  • Provide pharmaceutical clients with strategic vision & customized solutions for medical communications (speaker bureau) programs
  • Continuously monitor the marketplace and provide updates and recommendations to the client and agency
  • Responsible for organic growth within assigned accounts, profitability, adherence to budget and timelines for program deliverables, and exceeding client expectations
  • Provide strategic insight & recommend projects and changes
  • Create and execute designed strategic, tactical, and business plans
  • Ability to obtain complete understanding of the assigned therapeutic category
  • Lead team when appropriate for RFP responses, proposal development, pitch presentations, and budgeting
  • Provide strategic leadership to staff and clients
  • Manage initiatives from concept to completion
  • Actively grow and promote the company's products and services (Organic Growth)
  • Lead pre-launch and promotional campaigns such as (advisory boards, symposia, websites, digital case history programs, speaker slide kits, speaker training meetings, etc.)
  • Effective communication with clients, faculty, and staff members at all levels
  • Proactively provide client with points of view and recommendations on business building, market research and competitive activities
  • Develop key client relationships and internal relationships
  • Appropriate utilization of agency resources REQUIREMENTS
    • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
    • At least 8 or more years of client services, medical communications industry experience with a strong foundation in managing speaker bureau accounts
    • Staff Management/mentoring experience
    • Strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Word)
    • Excellent marketing, Leadership, Organization, Interpersonal skills
    • Strong team player, as well as individual drive to succeed and work independently
