- Employment Type: Direct Hire Our client, a top Am Law firm, is
seeking an experienced Litigation & Practice Technology Project
Manager to join its busy, growing e-discovery team. This high
visibility role will be crucial to the growth of the e-discovery
team's presence within the office and the firm as a whole. In a
strategic and tactical role, the Technology Project Manager
function is twofold, serving as both a consultative subject matter
expert and hands-on technical expert to support the needs of the
firm's growing e-discovery team. As a consultant, candidates should
understand law firm dynamics and possess the ability to build
credible relationships quickly, becoming a resource that
stakeholders within the firm rely on at the outset of litigation
needs. Being an influencer and evangelizing the e-discovery team's
abilities and value proposition to create buy-in is absolutely
essential, as well as serving as the primary point of contact for
the e-discovery team. Understanding the needs of a case team at any
phase of litigation, translating that into the technical
requirements, and executing on those requirements is paramount to
success. Additionally, superior expertise in Relativity (RCA
preferred), Brainspace, and other TAR analytics tools. This
experience coupled with the ability to determine the most
appropriate tools and workflows for a given project to execute on
case team strategy efficiently and precisely is imperative.
Hands-on expertise, such as setting up and managing workflows,
running iterations, and managing vendors, is required. This role
will deal with the end-to-end technical execution from collection

Technical Responsibilities:
- Provides hands-on support in Relativity, Brainspace and other
litigation technology toolsets for a variety of requests,
including: case creation; field and coding layout creation;
strategic application of TAR and other analytics; advanced search
design, implementation and validation; creation and support of
document review and production workflows; privilege log design and
management; complaint data and exhibit management
- Advises on and coordinate development of key specifications
(e.g., data processing and exception handling) with case teams and
internal team
- Assesses and addresses any issues found in reporting related to
data processing, exception handling or completeness of data
collection
- Coordinates (or perform if necessary) in-house data management
activities such as data processing, loading into database
applications, imaging, and building production subsets
- Performs final quality control and assurance on deliverables to
case teams, clients and third parties
- Consults with case team members on the use of customized
litigation support apps and tools
- Assists with analyzing and testing new versions of
software
- Trouble shoots escalated issues
- Supports the execution of special projects
- Applies firm standards in both technology and practices as
identified by Firm leadership and guided by an Associate
DirectorProject Management & Consulting Responsibilities:
- Supports assessment and selection of e-discovery and managed
review providers
- Assists with the management of external service providers and
any required problem-solving or troubleshooting. Help identify
opportunities for improved use of technology or process to gain
efficiencies and meet best practices
- Coordinates communications and document decisions related to
technical work-streams including running project meetings,
determining requirements, schedules, deliverables, and quality
standards
- Coordinates and QC's completion of work requests between case
teams and Operations teams
- Identifies and implements process, reporting and documentation
enhancements to improve service quality
- Enhancements made could include tracking systems, reporting
templates, review workflows and development of use cases for the
utilization of advanced analytics and AI
- Consults on and document data identification, preservation, and
collection procedures
- Consults on and implement the use of TAR, advance analytics,
and review/quality control workflow design
- Assists case teams in the analysis and presentation of data
trends and patterns using TAR and other advanced analytics
- Contributes to departmental publications, presentations, and
documentation creation
- Delivers training to case teams and department as required
- Provides briefings to the Associate Director and Director of
Litigation & Practice Technology as requestedQualifications &
Requirements:
- Significant hands on experience with leading e-discovery review
platforms (Relativity, DISCO, Recommind) with an emphasis on
database setup, complex search construction and results validation,
design of optimized review workflows including document
batching
- Some hands-on experience with the use of TAR and other
analytics (BrainSpace, NexLP) with an emphasis on the use of
CAL/CMML and other techniques for deduplication, email threading,
review prioritization, sampling, production quality control,
privilege identification and other predictive models
- Experience supporting early case assessment steps to defensibly
cull document volumes and identify potential gaps in data
collections or incoming productions
- General knowledge of industry standard data processing
specifications, exception handling and other data assessment
techniques
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other data management
tools
- Thorough knowledge of the litigation lifecycle and e-discovery
processes
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a
timely fashion, simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy,
