Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture. Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience. *Position Overview:* We are seeking a Software Development Director to manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for IoT applications. As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, data analytics and APIs according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture. Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. This position will regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. We are in need of someone who has the vision to drive Industry 4.0 solution priorities for the business by outlining and implementing action-based plans. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others is also a key skill needed. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. *Key Responsibilities:* You will be responsible to build and grow a team of data and software engineers. You should have technical depth, architectural know how, be strong people and process manager and able to dive deep into any part of the application stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be obsessed with making your customers happy * Lead development of innovative products that utilize next generation IoT software architecture and data management/delivery to enable Industry 4.0 solutions for various customer applications * Provide technical leadership to product and technology development strategy * Collaborate and communicate with BU leadership, product management, sales and support on a regular basis * Set clear program objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill a high- performing culture with a focus on accountability * Build, develop, encourage and lead a team of highly skilled, highly motivated developers in different functional roles globally * Actively seek and qualify potential complementary, innovative technologies in the market in partnership with the BU and Strategic Product Planning groups Managers at any level can have significant technical and business impact. *Job Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field is required. Graduate degree (Master's) preferred. Minimum of 12 years of related experience is required * 10 years of people management experience in building and leading successful engineering teams is required * Strong background of new product development in IoT, SaaS, RESTful API and Microservice development * Strong understanding of databases, big data systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies * Detailed knowledge of and experience leading teams through cloud native architecture, and secure by design modern security principles. * Knowledge of wide range of products and technologies, including building and orchestration in multi-tenant, virtualized and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), automation and testing tools (Selenium, QTest manager etc.) and open source technologies like NiFi, Kafka and Flume *Preferred Qualifications:* * Proven development leader who is results driven, agile, positive, and collaborative even when faced with ambiguity. * Experience working with teams to design/develop IoT integrations with popular vendor / Oracle products or services. *Reimaginging communications to connect the world* Gone are the days where telecommunications were synonymous with pure networking protocols.
