OverviewBlackRock's Enterprise Resilience team includes the
Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
programs. We ensure BlackRock's resources, processes, technology
and data are resilient to disruptive events. The Disaster Recovery
team's main focus is on ensuring BlackRock's readiness to recover
data centers in the event of an outage. This is validated through
annual exercises, which are coordinated by the DR teamRole
ResponsibilityWe are looking for a dynamic leader to run our DR
program and lead our diverse team of professionals. As part of this
role you will act as the lead point of contact for disaster
recovery.You will lead the global testing program, inclusive of 10
weekend data center tests, review and enhance policy, standards,
processes and procedures and assess industry best recovery
practices for data center, cloud and cyber events.
- Oversee training and advancement of the global recovery
- Conduct risk assessments of select third-party providers'
- Participate in client due diligence reviews
- Provide guidance, reports and risk assessment to senior
management, c-level and board members
- Run all disaster recovery projects including scheduling,
planning, implementation and tracking, as well as recovery
exercises and post-mortem reviews
- Participate in hiring process, performance reviews and
employee-related mattersExperienceBlackRock is looking for a proven
and inclusive leader who is ready to lead the program today. The
role enables you to interact with multiple groups and senior
leaders around the globe. We are looking for somebody who has the
- Minimum five years' experience in IT Disaster Recovery and
experience in implementation, migration and testing of cloud
- History of evaluating program's strengths and weaknesses,
providing strategic options and implementing solutions.
- Consistent track record of leading large-scale IT Disaster
Recovery events and/or tests.
- Broad understanding of all aspects of technology, to
sufficiently know all the components that need to be addressed for
and during a DR test.
- Solid understanding of the relationship between Business
Continuity Management, Crisis Management and Technology teams.
- Superb communication and relationship skills.
- Works well with distributed leadership and is self-directed
with good judgment on when to raise issues.
