Vice President of Finance & Accounting


This position is based in the CAPA Boston location, working in a hybrid format, a portion of the week remotely from home and a portion in the CAPA office. The Vice President and the majority of finance team members are based in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Overview

The Director of Finance works as a member of the Senior Financial Management team, supporting the Vice President of Finance and Accounting and other Senior Leaders. The role leads the finance team in the functional areas of budgeting & forecasting, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc financial analysis. The Director of Finance advises and makes recommended improvements and/or upgrades to finance & accounting information systems and internal controls.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Facilitate the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Develops intimate knowledge of international costs, business strategy, budget model, and processes
  • Maintain and update existing reports on a weekly, monthly and term basis
  • Assist with accounting month end processes
  • Update, validate, and analyze budget and actual data from multiple sources
  • Perform actual to budget variance analysis and historical trend analysis
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of our business and its systems and processes
    • Assist in creating new and updating existing financial models
      • Support senior management and other departments on projects, ad hoc and management reports and analysis
      • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
        • Experience in accounting, analysis, and research skills
        • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, shifting priorities quickly and accurately, as needed
        • Demonstrates a high level of organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and with a high degree of accuracy.
        • Proficiency with MS Excel
        • The successful candidate will be flexible, with an ability to work proactively as an individual contributor and collaboratively as a member of the finance team.
        • Must be highly curious with exceptional problem-solving skills
        • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
        • Ability to build relationships and communicate with staff at all levels of the organization, across domestic and international locations
        • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
        • Positive attitude, reliable, and enjoys a challenge
          Education and/or Experience
          • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus in an Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred
          • At least 5-7 years of experience in a Finance leadership role
