Job Description: The Product Line Manager is responsible for the strategic direction of the their assigned product line driving revenue growth and ensuring profitability through the active partnership and coordination of activities with Engineering and Operations. This position is the leader in market understanding and drives translation of market understanding into both product definitions and sales tools to ensure long term Cambridge Technology growth and success. Key responsibilities of the Product Line Manager include, but are not limited to: * Develops and maintains market understanding of end user applications and customer requirements. Owns Voice-of Customer (VOC) process for assigned product line. * Develops market segmentation strategy to drive market share gain in excess of market growth and profitability of Cambridge Technology industrial business. * Develops product roadmaps and product definitions to meet customer requirements. Drives value proposition development to help direct strengthening and growing Cambridge Technology core competencies. * Develops and maintains business case for product line rationalization and priority recommendation. Leads 80/20 analysis and determine actions necessary for customer segmentation and priority. * Manages full product life cycle of product lines supporting industrial applications through stage-gate process management and project leadership team management. * Works in cross-functional environment as a leader or a contributor as business requires. * Collaborates with functional managers across all business functions to ensure business priorities and objectives are achieved to align with expectations for timing and trajectory of revenue development. * Owns the development of the 3-year revenue plan (forecast) in concert with the development of the strategic plan for industrial business. * Owns product regional pricing strategy for industrial applications. Works with Sales to ensure bids and quotes reflect best business judgment to maximize gross margins, gain share and meet the competitive environment. * Provides overall product direction and training for customer service and support activities. * Develops product collateral; Works with Marketing Communications (MARCOM) to develop and execute appropriate MARCOM strategies and plans to promote the overall product capability and brand suite. Job Qualifications: * Must have proven experience in product management and/or product marketing, including project and program management. * Minimum 12 years of working experience, with 7+ years in marketing, project/program management, business development, or senior sales role in a quality-driven global organization. 5+ years of direct experience in an industry using laser based optical solutions. * Must have demonstrated solid abilities in all facets of product life cycle management, including Voice of Customer (VOC), market/product road-mapping, and stage gate-based process implementation. * Should have solid understanding of basic financial concepts and their implications for product/business strategy. * Should have strong ability to analyze complex situations and reach conclusions through logical process of elimination and reasoned fact based decision making. * Possess strong presentation skills to engage the attention of both customers and colleagues. * Proven leadership in managing cross-functional activities as a leader and as contributor. * Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills through managing by influence. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; exhibit strong listening and feedback skills; and have the ability to provide clear direction. * Positive attitude, driven to win, desire to work with customers. * Sense of urgency with personal commitment to the products' market success. * Team player that is respectful of customers, peers, subordinates and supervisors. * Excellent working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.
