Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)The Director of Growth Planning for Community & State is responsible for advancing national growth operating strategy, process controls, infrastructure, and insights to develop and execute upon our long-term growth pipeline. -In partnership with the VP of Project Planning & Performance, this role will serve as a key leader in developing strategic frameworks and structure needed to promote optimal efficiency and performance of our growth engine, creating a clear operating path to long-term, sustainable smart growth. This leader will partner with leaders across the organization to enhance our approach to building and managing our long-term growth pipeline and optimizing our growth engine's performance. This role requires strategic thinking, with the ability to anticipate needs and identify opportunities, as well as an analytic and process-driven mindset to bring discipline and objective data to highly complex, ambiguous, and cross-functional growth process. -You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Minneapolis, MN preferred.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sustainable Growth Infrastructure
    • Build, implement and maintain operating infrastructure to sustain our long-term growth pipeline
    • Lead source of truth growth pipeline accuracy and accountabilities
    • Enhance and maintain integrated growth stage review process controls
    • Partner in establishing national growth integration policies and procedures, as well as identifying and supporting advancement of process improvement opportunities -
    • Guide development of internal growth systems strategy (i.e. Salesforce) and drive execution plans
    • Refine and partner with key stakeholders in optimizing and maintaining growth budget tracking and governance processes
    • Sustainable Growth Management
      • Facilitate and manage integrated growth stage review process controls
      • Partner in tracking the progress and performance of growth pipeline and engine, establishing leading indicators to identify opportunities and strengths
      • Identify growth engine performance or process opportunities and mobilize right team or strategy to identify root cause, develop a solution, and drive to execution
      • Serve as key liaison with business around growth pipeline, leading streamlined communication around long-term opportunities and progress advancing opportunities - partnering closely with Growth Team leadership, Finance, and other key stakeholders
      • Advance pipeline communication strategy, considering audience, education tactics, and user engagement to ensure alignment
      • Sustainable Growth Performance Evaluation & Communication
        • Advance standard, regular National and Market-level evaluation of growth readiness, optimizing data inputs, streamlining implementation processes, and driving usability and accountability of insight
        • Perform in-depth post-mortem analyses on RFPs and growth opportunities to drive culture of learning and improvement, data-based decision making, and awareness
        • Partner with growth leaders in synthesizing and communicating growth opportunity trends and performance - developing a strategy to communicate insights in an approach that optimizes action, accountability, and engagement ease
        • Partner with Knowledge Management & Competitive Intel teams to establish strategy to source/scan competitive environment and embed through various team modalities You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
          • Bachelor's degree
          • 5+ years health industry experience
          • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale, strategic initiatives
          • 2+ years of experience leading and facilitating strategy discussion and driving diverse teams to consensus and prompt decision-making
          • 1+ years managing direct reports -
          • Experience in working with executive leadership, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and convey complex topics and navigate and lead change
          • Experience with Medicaid and public sector growth and demonstrated organizational awareness
          • Project Management experience and experience in analysis of business process and workflow and providing an evaluation, benchmark and/or process improvement recommendations
          • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.             • 3+ years of UHG enterprise experience
            • Excellent problem solving, planning and decision-making skills. -Accurately scopes out projects, sets objectives and goals, develops schedules and resource assignments, measures performance against goals, and evaluates results
            • Effective communicator; capable of effectively presenting ideas and selling concepts and tactics; excellent writer, proven ability to communicate effectively with executive-levels; ability to quickly understand needs and act on those needs; ability to conceptualize and effectuate change management and "out-of-the-box" thinking
            • Comfort with ambiguity and a quick learner, able to quickly learn and translate new or technical information to succinct, actionable meaningful insight; able to thrive as a generalist advancing projects in unfamiliar/new domain -
            • Proven conceptualization skills, able to take abstract ideas and materialize them into strategies and execution plans

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
