Director, Benefits and HRIS, Curaleaf's Benefits Manager will
develop, implement, administer and maintain benefits and wellness
programs as well as leave policies and procedures. This role will
ensure our programs meet the needs of our rapidly growing team
member population in a highly competitive industry, comply with
legal requirements, and are cost-effective. Responsibilities
- Ensure all compliance requirements are met (i.e. ACA, COBRA
notices, Summary Annual Report distribution, 5500s, PCORI fees,
discrimination testing, etc.)
- Explain, interpret, and answer complex questions regarding
medical, dental, vision, disability, life, flexible spending plans,
401k, wellness program, health savings program, COBRA, workers'
compensation, ADA, and/or FMLA to team members
- Ensure benefit offerings align with overall culture of the
organization, review effectiveness of programs and services and
recommend benefits programs based on trends and developments in the
market
- Provide oversight to all benefits related processes, policies,
and programs
- Lead open enrollment planning and process, including renewals
planning, vendor management, team member communications, benefits
audits, and wellness events
- Serve as company liaison to insurance carriers with respect to
fully- and self-insured plans policies and services
- Responsible for accurate communication of benefits data to
vendors (file feeds)
- Oversee the monthly billing process and confirm timely and
accurate payments
- Support the development and ongoing analysis of the benefits
budget
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable state statutory disability
and paid leave laws and ensure company leave policies are in
compliance with state laws and regulations
- Partner with state HR Leaders, Payroll, and third-party
administrator to manage STD, LTD, PFML, FMLA and other leaves
- Develop and drive wellness initiative and programs to better
support team members and enhance our current benefit offering
- Align benefit program communications with overall HR and
organization communication strategiesQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management,
Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Human Resources or other
related field
- 7-10 years of experience in benefits; at least (4) years in a
management role, including people management
- CEBS certification preferred
- Experience implementing and administering a 401k
- Tactical expertise and knowledge of benefits systems, processes
and tools gained through a career of increasing responsibility in
benefits
- Strategic expertise and knowledge of benefits governance, plan
design, laws and regulations, related financials, legal,
regulatory, and fiduciary requirements, benefit program
administration, and enrollment processes
- Experience conducting benefits due diligence and integration
for M&A
- Demonstrated experience managing a substantial benefit plan
