Private Markets is also supported but mainly through the use of feeder funds (fund of funds) and LP investments. Investment Operations staff work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment whereby attention to detail (financial exposure), operational risk, and client focus are must have traits.Reporting to the SVP, Global Head of Operations, the Director, Investment Operations will work closely with the many different functional Investment Operations teams (e.g. Portfolio Administration, Trade Support, Data Management, Performance, Derivatives Operations, Client Reporting, Fund Administration, etc---) and other internal key stakeholders to lead, analyze, develop and implement solutions towards new products and investment strategies, internal risk and control enhancements, workflow optimization and reporting capabilities. The Director will also manage various investment operations' functions while providing both strategic and tactical level leadership across the firm. -Your responsibilities:Provides functional support and leadership across a wide spectrum of investment operation teams and competenciesDevelops and enhances our vendor management and governance practices with key vendors and custodiansLeads the testing and implementation of operational enhancements and special projectsCoordinates the development of new operational processes and controls to implement new products and client solutionsHelps define and implements scope of highly complex operationsIdentifies, designs, implements and maintains KPIs to assist in the management of internal teams, deliverables and key vendorsStays current on industry and regulatory trends and the evolving needs of our clients and partnersManages cross functional and/or cross regional teams (size and scope TBD based on candidate)Provides for key investment systems support and solutions (OMS, IBOR, Client Reporting, etc---)Contributes to the enhancement and production of Client Reporting (e.g. holdings reports, reconciliation summaries, etc---)Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to problems faced by the business unitsPlays a key role and/or acts as a SME in other assigned projects (system enhancements, business acquisitions, regulatory changes)Fosters a client-centric culture; partners with client reps, sales and other internal teams to achieve resultsProvides exceptional service when interacting with internal and external contactsParticipates in working groups targeting industry and regulatory initiatives and best practicesEmpowers team members to participate in and lead high profile projects that will promote growth and effectivenessCoaches / mentors others within the departmentContinues to build, maintain and leverage a network of contacts at other financial industry firms and vendorsAdvocate on behalf of the team in any arena where they need a voiceExercises business acumen and sound judgement in representing the department with vendors and internal stakeholdersDevelops strong personal relationships within the firm and can navigate political intricaciesBuilds and maintain strong working relationships with internal (front- and back-office teams) to ensure shared success Must have requirements to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or other relevant fieldsCompletion or pursuit of professional certifications, such as the CFA or FRM designations, is an asset10+ years of Investment Operations experience in an asset manager / administrator setting with 5+ years of management experienceStrong stakeholder management capabilityUnderstands strategic business plansDemonstrates a solid understanding of the asset management industry, other department functions and has the ability to collaborate with other departments to bring solutions to fruitionLeads by exampleExperience with project management and developing operational solutionsAbility to work collaboratively and build solid relationshipsSelf-motivated with continuous process improvement mindsetOrganized, methodical and detail orientedExceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex conceptsAbility to work effectively under pressure and tight timelinesSelf-motivated individual who can adjust to changing prioritiesHigh attention to detail, and accuracy, within a high-volume work environmentAbility to work flexible hours with some travel, as requiredExcellent working knowledge of complex investment products (FX, Futures, Options, Credit and Interest Rate Derivatives, Repos and Bond Forwards) as well as P&L and cash analysis on those productsExcellent working knowledge of alternative investments including rivate Loans, Term Loans, LPs and Third-Party FundsGood understanding of how Investment Managers operate and interact with Counterparties and Custodians is essentialDemonstrated analytical thinking, experience resolving operational issues and strong problem resolution skillsAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlinesProven continuous process improvement mindset and positive team attitudeExperience and demonstrated skills with Excel, VBA and Excel macros is an asset#LI-Hybrid For positions available in Quebec that require fluency in French and English, please note that bilingualism is required due to our global offices and clients.
