agreement.--POSITION PURPOSEReporting to the Director of
Environment & Compliance, this is a key position that is part of
the broader T&P VNA Environmental Compliance team. This
position will need to have a good understanding of database
administration responsibilities, data models and database
monitoring tools and will be supporting databases that host
critical data for in-house applications.PRIMARY DUTIES /
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Veolia EH&S database systems administration including:
monitoring, modifying and enhancing existing systems; improving
efficiency and productivity to achieve projected goals; and monitor
performance of database systems and implement performance
optimization. Work with business colleagues and vendors to support
projects and KTLO (Keep the Lights On) activities. Currently these
systems include Hach's WIMS Data Management software and
Intelex.
- Conduct data analysis of EH&S database systems in order to
extrapolate meaningful information about trends, risk, efficiencies
and compliance. Organize and format data for effective query and
storage processes.
- Work with DB&T (Digital Business & Technology) to identify
any vulnerabilities or exposures that threaten the digital
environment or business operations and mitigate those threats.
Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for
ensuring the security and integrity of the EHS database
systems.
- With respect to WIMS, as required provide support to the
T&P Operations Technology group as they assist with interface
data from external sources such as SCADA systems, data loggers,
LIMS applications, external databases, and laboratory files to
ensure timely access to regulatory or process control data - with a
focus on limiting the need for manual data entry.
- Interface with Veolia Business Unit (BU) SMEs on EHS database
systems to understand BU needs. Provide training and on-going
support with SMEs on EHS database systems as needed.
- Interface with third-party vendors and consultants to ensure
EHS database systems are fully optimized and meet Veolia's
needs.
- Direct the administration and use of current and emerging
database tools, strategies and technologies.
- Report on database transaction performance and database metrics
(Performance Statistics).
- Special projects as necessary.WORK ENVIRONMENTOffice setting
with minimal travel (1-4 trips/year).Possible Work Hazards: While
not working at an office, occasionally the employee may conduct
site visits at one of our Veolia locations where hazardous
operations occur.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
(or similar education)
- A min of 4 years of experience as a database
administrator.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of database systems, maintenance & reporting.
- Working knowledge of business analysis concepts, tools, and
techniques.
- Working knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and
techniques.
- Comfortable working with diverse teams.
- Comfortable working within the parameters of agile project
methodologies.
- Ability to facilitate communications between stakeholders from
all levels of the organization and to objectively identify and
resolve conflicts.
- Capable and comfortable multi-tasking between concurrent
projects.
- Demonstrates ability to develop unique solutions for complex
technical problems that may include the design of new systems or
development of solutions having few or no precedents.
- Consistently demonstrates leadership ability and regularly
serves as a technical or functional leader on a project basis.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, timely, effective,
and complete and easily understood written communications, reports
and presentations for management.
- Demonstrated verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills in
order to effectively communicate with peers, management, clients
and the general public.
- Must be proficient in the use of word processing and
spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and
regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other
Company policies and procedures.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and
willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities
readily.Physical Requirements--Amount of time spent - Standing 15%,

vision abilities required by this job include close vision,

Requires close visual observation to detect process non-conformance
