The opportunity:
We are looking for an energetic, collaborative team member to lead
procurement activities for our global team. As process owner for
Procure-to-Pay (P2P), you will interact with team members from
Research and Development, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure
cost effective and timely delivery of essential goods and services
on favorable terms and to maximize efficiency and stakeholder
satisfaction. You will participate in daily business execution as
well as aid higher-level strategic initiatives with information and
reporting. In short, you'll support Odyssey's continued success by
managing and streamlining procurement services for the entire
organization.

Your primary objectives will be to:
- End-to-end ownership of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process; act
as a "hands-on", proactive leader with a focus on continuous
process improvement with key stakeholders (e.g., vendors, business
operations, legal, accounts payable).
- Build and scale procurement operations as the business grows
and transitions from a research and discovery organization to
clinical development stage company.
- Develop a sourcing and procurement operations framework that
delivers value creation across cost, quality, and efficiency while
maintaining business agility.
- Drive cost optimization efforts by improving processes,
eliminating wasteful spending, consolidating vendors, and
negotiating discounts.
- Enable increased process automation to scale operations and
champion data analytics and reporting to improve time to insight
both within the team and across the enterprise.
- Manage supplier qualification, RFP & supplier selection
process; collaborate with Legal and business partners to negotiate
master service/goods agreements, work orders and statement of works
templates.
- Negotiate supplier terms such as price, risk allocation,
quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc. and work with
business to evaluate vendor performance.
- Partner with business leaders and system users to ensure strong
understanding of process and policies throughout the
organization.
- Work with stakeholders to understand details of procurement and
vendor management requirements, including important scientific
details.
- Develop and provide training and communication material for
internal business groups.
- Manage outsourcing strategies and ensure cross-functional
alignment and compliance.
- Serve as a thought partner and actively challenge the business
to deploy the most comprehensive and creative solutions; remove
barriers for team to ensure its ability to execute.
- Develop and maintain broad stakeholder relationships, both
internally and externally, to ensure organizational goals are
met.
About you:
- MA / MS degree with 7+ years of Procurement/Sourcing experience
with a rapidly growing organization with multiple geographic sites
and labs.
- Experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
with understanding of drug discovery and development
process.
- > 3 years' experience dealing with domestic and
international CROs.
- Extensive experience owning the development and implementation
of strategic sourcing frameworks with proven results via scaling
and cost savings.
- Self-starting, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including
ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse
groups, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building abilities,
including the ability to influence others.
- Strong time management and planning skills required to
coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while
adapting to changes in business requirements.
- Technically savvy, including a demonstrated high level of
proficiency in the Microsoft suite and familiarity with procurement
system solutions and integration with enterprise financial
systems.
