We currently have a full time 40 hour per week position, including
on-call/ weekend rotation, available for a Director of Business
Development in our Woburn branch.

- And much more! Job Summary: The Director of Business
Development is the senior New England Life Care account
representative at a designated member hospital or health system.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for setting and
achieving strategic goals and objectives, in alignment with member
hospital goals and objectives, while showing superior results in
the areas of quality, service, financial performance, and member.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving
performance excellence by organizing, directing and facilitating
the collective efforts of the on-site NELC team, including hospital
liaisons, infusion resource staff, sales, and marketing, as well as
internal NELC leadership and resources from the respective
branches. The Director of Business Development is responsible for
building, developing, and maintaining relationships throughout the
member hospital/system, including the executive leadership team,
hospital, ambulatory, post-acute services and community
practice-based medical and administrative leaders to develop and
implement strategic and operational plans that meet and exceed
member's hospital/ system needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing, leading, and coordinating the NELC team to
collaborate with member hospital, member hospital system of care,
and medical and administrative leadership to develop, implement and
monitor annual strategic goals and objectives in alignment with the
member hospital/hospital system goals and objectives to achieve
operational excellence. The Director of Business Development has a
combination of indirect (dotted line) and direct reports
responsibility of all on-site NELC team members, to enable the
Director of Business Development to direct and coordinate the NELC
resources to best meet the member's needs
- Engage and coordinate resources among the NELC team located at
the member hospital and in the ambulatory and post-acute services
spaces; as well as resources within NELC to meet the member's needs
and to achieve strategic goals and objectives established with and
by the member.
- Build and develop relationships with member and member parent,
clinical and administrative leadership throughout the system of
care and engage to continuously understand the member's business,
strategic and current needs, the patient's needs and develop and
implement programs and services to best meet those needs
- Stay continuously aware of the competitive hospital and
healthcare market (e.g., Strategy, Market presence, goals,
capabilities, area of influence, limitations, clinical and business
programs, contracts, changes in payer policies and practices,
changes in care models and care delivery, healthcare economics).
Periodically conduct assessment of strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats (SWOT) for and with the member
hospital/system. Apply this knowledge to proactively propose
programs and services that advance the member's interests in the
changing marketplace
- Assume total account responsibility, accountability & ownership
of/for the account (quality, service, patient safety, member
satisfaction, patient satisfaction, revenue & volume, profitability
& loss (P&L), resource requirements, identification and
creation of new opportunities, and identification and creation of
new strategies)
- Use existing performance data for the member hospital and
develop new data metrics to monitor the performance of the account
and identify opportunities for improvement. Regularly share
performance data with hospital leaders, as part of development of
ongoing goals and objectives. Regularly share performance data with
the internal and external NELC team to ensure continuous awareness
by the team of the opportunities and threats at the assigned member
hospital Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Nursing,
Pharmacy, or related field
- 3-5 year's prior experience (direct selling preferred) in the
healthcare space; acute hospital, ambulatory practice, ACO and
Skilled nursing
- Experience working with C-Suite, VP and Director levels of
hospitals, nursing, hospital pharmacy, ACO, and physician
leadership
- Demonstrates proven high level of competency in managing
accounts and deliverables in the healthcare industry and confidence
in leading large program accounts
- Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment where
priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist
- Ability to interpret market research, data, and sales analytics
to develop a territory business plan to achieve territory business
objectives
