Job Description:The Asset Management Strategic Advisers, Product & Pricing Finance team is seeking a Director of Finance for Alternatives Finance to deliver a range of financial analysis, product dashboards / visualizations, investment & capital reporting as well as providing business partner support. In this role you will be responsible for conducting analytics and crafting executive level recommendations for strategic priorities. This role will be the lead of alternatives finance support for planning, pricing and analysis. This includes investment case development for product launches, ongoing financial evaluation of existing products, and development of new business acceptance committees and oversight processes.The ideal candidate will be a finance professional with experience in/of alternative products and related financial analysis. The RoleThis role will provide financial analysis and reporting support to several groups developing, monitoring, and coordinating alternative products within Asset Management and Corporate Services. These new and innovative products and solutions are a strategic priority for Fidelity s next generation of customers.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Finance and Financial services experience specifically with alternative products
  • Ability to work independently under pressure in a dynamic environment that will require you to manage multiple, competing tasks simultaneously
  • Proven track record to combine a strategic business perspective with strong project management, writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent Strong communications skills, including the ability to communicate sophisticated financial information to influence executive decision making
  • Project management skills that drive simultaneous progress on multiple cross-functional teams and initiatives
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and presentation tools (detailed below) and ability to teach others
  • Strong software skills with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, FCAP, Essbase/Smartview, PowerBI, DOMO, Simfund
  • Confidence, business maturity, and presence to work independently and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization, including effectively interacting with and influencing senior management
  • Outstanding critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Project management experience establishing timelines and leading the project lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactively building consultative relationships across Finance and the business
  • Ability to gain subject matter expertise in a short time period and apply institutional knowledge to business decisions and quality analytics
  • Flexibility, and resourcefulness to manage several priorities in a deadline driven environment, having comfort with ambiguity
  • Ability to take initiative and seek creative solutions that challenge conventional approach
  • Leadership skills to develop financial analyst talent

    • Solid understanding of alternative products in order to drive analytic and reporting solutions
    • Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of financial results, including key drivers, emerging trends, and anomalies to share with senior management to guide effective decision making
    • Using tools and business knowledge to continuously provide insightful information, reporting and analytics that evolve with changes in the business, including proactive thinking and analysis
    • Reviewing, analyzing and supervising business performance, synthesizing data, analyses, and conclusions into presentation form for senior management
    • Operating with autonomy, serving as a proxy for the business to various internal audiences
    • Thinking and working across Fidelity to ensure consistency in analysis approach, standards for data and definitions, and proactive support of time critical projects
    • Finding opportunities to streamline work processes and simplify models to make the team more efficient and effective
    • Developing an understanding of AM financial architecture to understand impact of assigned business(es) on LOB and product financial performance and to support modernization efforts
    • Post-mortem analysis on case execution
    • Partner in the creation and ongoing monitoring of Scorecard and Key Performance Indicators
