The vision of the program is to transform research and healthcare deliverythrough a combination of research, education, and advocacyto include and prioritize individuals who communicate in languages other than English. A core guiding principle of the program is that language should be a strength, not a barrier, and that empowering communities through linguistic inclusion can lead to higher quality, safer, and more equitable care for all. This position is fully in-office.
The Program Administration Manager I will be responsible for:
+ Managing the implementation of program goals and objectives.
+ Preparing budget proposals and recommendations and establishing budget control system for controlling expenditures; controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommending equipment and resources for program; helping obtain additional grant and philanthropic funding.
+ Managing project scope and timeline through formal change management processes; managing project issues and risks through standard issue/risk process.
+ Managing, selecting, training, evaluating and managing unit or department staff for effectiveness and efficiency.
+ Performing need assessments, evaluating and analyzing individual program and overall unit or department effectiveness; implementing appropriate procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy to fulfill the unit or department and campus mission.
+ Managing the development of internal systems and materials for delivering programs and services.
+ Providing technical advice, policy interpretation, and guidance for applying appropriate procedures to staff, students and administrators.
+ Developing and facilitating or overseeing the development and facilitation of workshops, seminars and orientations.
+ Developing information flyers, internal forms and various materials to facilitate unit or department programs and services. Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
The Program Administration Manager will oversee the following program activities:
(1) Establishing a multilingual translation and cultural adaptation collaborative to support researchers and clinicians in effective translation.
(2) Creating a library of translated research and clinical materials.
(3) Conducting language equity focused research.
(4) Mentoring local and national research projects to advance language equity.
(5) Publishing scholarship focused on language equity.
(6) Creating training materials for clinicians and researchers on language equity best practices.
(7) Advocating for language equity in research and operations, locally and nationally, including to funders and national accrediting organizations.
To qualify, you must have:
+ Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience or an Associate's Degree with 6 years of experience.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
+ Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
+ 3 year commitment preferred.
+ Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, advocacy, verbal and written communication skills, and a passion for language equity are required.
