Job Description:
Works with Portfolio and Quantitative Analysts to determine and
deliver technology requirements. Creates user stories in the
product backlog and refines sprint stories. Delivers software in
Scrum and Agile environments. Engages in backlog grooming and
prioritization, detailed story writing, and User Acceptance Testing
(UAT). Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis
projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix
organization. Consults with business users to develop
recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs
and opportunities. Primary Responsibilities: Leads and conducts interviews with business users to gather
requirements, and understand technology needs and system and
workflow challenges. Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex
business needs and opportunities. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems
analysis projects, and defines project scope. Mentors junior analysts in the execution of documents on large
and complex projects, and monitors the quality and progress of
documents created by junior analysts. Designs new systems based on requirements. Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and
coordinates user acceptance testing efforts. Communicates progress of multiple projects to management. Engages with and manages the expectations of internal and
external stakeholders. Serves as an industry subject matter expert, and identifies
other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements
for large and complex projects. Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices
for systems analysis processes. Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business
impact and determines/facilitates workarounds, in concert with the
production support organization. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies. Coaches and mentors junior product analysts and developers on
systems analysis techniques and business workflows. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
building front or middle office technology solutions in a financial
services environment. Or, alternatively, a Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience building front or middle office
technology solutions in a financial services environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) identifying, analyzing, and
documenting business and system requirements and processes;
creating use case documents and writing user stories in Jira;
creating data flow diagrams in Visio; and building Excel
prototypes. DE working in a data intensive asset management environment --
writing advanced SQL queries for data analysis, reviewing PLSQL
codes with engineers, performing data movement and migration (ETL),
creating physical data models using TOAD, testing data APIs with
Postman, and building applications that utilize asset management
data structures (holdings, benchmarks, portfolios, instruments,
returns, compliance, assets, and prices). DE acting as a product owner of an Agile delivery team --
writing acceptance criteria in Jira, driving Scrum meetings,
facilitating sprint planning, conducting User Acceptance Testing
(UAT), tracking results using HP ALM, writing automated tests in
FitNesse, and performing backlog grooming in Jira -- in a financial
