Job Description:
Implements data infrastructure for optimal extraction,
transformation, and loading from data sources, using Microsoft
Azure Cloud and SQL technologies. Designs and develops data
pipelines to populate operational repositories, warehouses, and
data marts. Builds and maintains Markit Enterprise Data Management
(EDM) artifacts and data integration toolsets to support the
development and maintenance of Investment Book of Records (IBOR).
Works with teams to understand data and reporting needs and assists
in building Business Intelligence (BI) frameworks for client
reporting and marketing using BI technologies -- Tableau and
QlikSense. Primary Responsibilities: Develops, builds, and deploys new and existing data models for
projects across the firm. Designs and develops enterprise data warehouses and the Extract,
Transform, and Load (ETL) jobs needed to populate dimensions and
facts. Builds and deploys ETL and data pipelines, using Markit EDM or
other data integration tools to integrate applications in the
firm. Authors and reports visually smart dashboards, using Tableau and
QlikSense. Builds BI infrastructure to automate the generation of reports
and commit in version control systems -- GitHub. Identifies, investigates, and resolves data integrity
issues. Analyzes and reverse engineers legacy reports written in R
programming language to migrate to scalable BI platforms. Builds automation tools around data quality metrics and change
reporting, licensing statistics, and logging and auditing changes
to data. Ensures new data is properly documented, governed, and follows
data retention best practices. Builds knowledge of how data assets firm wide are loaded and
transformed. Expands or modifies systems to serve new purposes or improve
workflow. Troubleshoots program and system malfunctions to restore normal
functions. Requirements: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management,
Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics,
or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the
job offered or three (3) years of experience performing data
modeling and integration, business reporting and visualization, and
software programming in a financial services domain; Or,
alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or
one (1) year of experience performing data modeling and
integration, business reporting and visualization, and software
programming in a financial services domain. Candidate must also
possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing data modeling for
Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical
Processing (OLAP) systems, visualization, reporting, and Extract,
Transform, and Load (ELTL) in a financial services domain, using
SQL server or Oracle, Tableau or Microsoft Power BI, and Markit EDM
or Informatica; and performing data analytics using programming
languages -- PL/SQL and Python or R; DE gathering business
requirements and implementing ETL solutions to stage, transform,
and load data into data warehouses and marts using Informatica
Power Center and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); gathering
requirements, and building and maintaining data integration
pipelines between Investment Book of Records (IBOR), Master Data
Management (MDM), front office, and trading and client reporting
platforms using Markit EDM; developing MDM applications in a
financial services domain, using Markit EDM or Informatica MDM; DE
building reports, dashboards, and visualizations, using Tableau and
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); creating reporting data
layers for self-service business intelligence platforms to enable
end users to unlock business insights, client reporting, and
portfolio management tasks, using Tableau, SSRS, and Power BI; DE
assisting data governance and product management teams in building
a technical lineage of attributes in data warehouses and reports
using Infogix Govern; identifying various stages in the data
lifecycle -- data onboarding, creation, processing, analysis,
storage, access, and reuse -- to understand the transformation and
consumption of data, and to certify the correct versions of data
are used for client reports and regulatory requirements using
