Job Description:
Develops solutions for solving technology and business problems
in the areas of Portfolio Management, Analysis, and Construction,
and Order Management and Trading. Guides development teams in the
areas of three-tier application development, using Java, Spring,
myBatis, Oracle (RAC), JMS, Kafka, jQuery, JavaScript, Backbone,
and Angular. Participates in research to recommend appropriate
models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve
business-unit-wide solutions. Leads architecture and solution
definition in the areas of application, data, and infrastructure.
Leads systems design using architecture patterns -- event driven
architectures, streaming, distributed caching, and scale out and
resilient architectures. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the
business unit or function to provide business unit-wide solutions.
Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the
strategic direction of the business unit. Primary Responsibilities: Drives decisions on technology strategy and solutions using
architecture standards. Translates business objectives into technology strategy, using
enterprise technologies, architectural styles, and techniques. Directs project teams on application design and technologies
across the stack -- User Interfaces (UIs), services, and
databases. Defines patterns and best practices to address functional and
non-functional requirements. Drives architecture reviews with delivery teams, develops best
practices, and ensures adherence to standards, roadmaps, and the
Information Technology (IT) blueprint. Promotes innovations within the organization by monitoring
industry trends in application architectures and application
development. Conducts Poof of Concepts (PoCs) for assessments of potential
implementation choices and their benefits. Develops and directs software systems testing and validation
procedures, programming, and documentation. Provides architecture consultation on development and delivery
of major technology initiatives for the business unit. Provides architecture consultation on deployment of major
technology deliverables. Provides architecture documentation of major technology
applications. Sets vision, goals, and architecture direction of the team. Plans and leads organization-wide architecture initiatives. Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to
multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex
organization-wide projects. Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or
cross-company architectural components. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years
of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience
designing and implementing scalable and performant transactional
applications and platforms in a financial services domain --
portfolio construction or trading. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered
or four (4) years of experience designing and implementing scalable
and performant transactional applications and platforms in a
financial services domain -- portfolio construction or trading. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) building and performance tuning high
throughput, performant, scalable, and resilient transactional
applications, using event driven architectures, Java, functional
programming, Spring, myBatis, Kafka, Tibco EMS, Oracle (RAC),
Dynatrace, and distributed caches -- Redis or Gemfire GFE. DE building middle-tier applications using Amazon Web Services
(AWS) Cloud technologies -- AWS S3, EC2, EBS, AWS Lambda, Kinesis,
and SQS; and deploying middle-tier applications, using Continuous
Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, Stash, Maven,
Jenkins, Nexus, and uDeploy. DE developing GUI applications, using MVC architectures,
Angular, Backbone, Javascript, JQuery, CSS, and Backbone. DE driving adoption of architecture best practices and patterns
