Job Description:
Implements Cloud-based data strategies that include database
design, Extract Transform Load (ETL) and ELT Pipelines, Data Lakes,
automation, and orchestration using Amazon Web Services
technologies -- AWS Batch, S3, IAM, KMS, Lambda, and
CloudFormation. Performs ETL/ELT design and develops software,
using Informatica, Python, Spark, and SpringBatch. Automates
processes and optimizes software applications using DevOps
technologies -- Jenkins, uDeploy, Concourse, and Datadog. Manages
data processing and analytics, using Oracle, Snowflake, AWS RDS,
DynamoDB, and Aurora. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business
or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing
complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and
recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction
of the business unit. Primary Responsibilities: Architects, designs, and builds highly scalable analytical and
reporting software applications. Performs data management using standard methodologies -- data
integration, security, warehousing, and analytics, and metadata
management. Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software
systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to
predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Develops and directs software system testing and validation
procedures, programming, and documentation. Identifies and consults with internal and external technical
resources to produce cross-company strategic designs. Consults on development and delivery of major technology
initiatives for the business unit. Consults on deployment of major project deliverables. Consults on the documentation of major technology
application. Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or
company architectural components. Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users
or external groups to resolve issues. Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization. Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives. Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to
multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex
organization-wide projects. Works across groups to identify opportunities for
organization-wide technology initiatives. Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other
team members for performance and career development. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years
of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience
architecting and developing high performing, time critical,
distributed applications in batch and real-time environments. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered
or four (4) years of experience architecting and developing high
performing, time critical, distributed applications in batch and
real-time environments. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing, developing, and
automating data processing within an investment management and
financial services environment, using Snowflake, Amazon Web
Services (AWS) Batch, and Python, according to Agile development
methodologies. DE developing batch and near real-time applications against
dimensionally modeled large Oracle databases, using Docker, Spring
Batch, Java, and Maven. DE designing, developing, and data modeling data intensive
applications to support predictive analytics within Hadoop
environments, using Unix scripting, Python, and Spark SQL. DE modernizing solutions and creating Cloud-based
message-oriented architectures for high-volume, transactional
applications using AWS infrastructure services; and creating
reusable frameworks for the expansion of infrastructure and product
capabilities to implement financial applications and interface with
core brokerage environment, using Spring boot, Kafka, and AWS
