Job Description:
Position Description: Contributes to the build out and development of decision science
functions, which will provide opportunities to use large volumes of
internally generated data to develop new sources of alpha. Programs
using Python to utilize modern database technology. Manages large,
unstructured datasets and modern Cloud-based technologies Snowflake
and S3. Engages in data exploration, modeling, and research to
craft new measures of risk and novel sources of alpha while
strengthening fundamental investment and research capabilities. Primary Responsibilities: Builds engagement, supports strategy development, executes on
research agenda, and develops partnerships across asset
classes. Supports the initial development of decision science and alpha
capture strategies that benefit quantitative, fundamental, and
multi-asset class investment teams. Researches and develops new quantitative investment models. Meets with business partners (investors, technologists, and
operations) to analyze existing capabilities. Contributes to the broader training and development of an elite
quantitative and data driven research and investment team. Formulates and executes against a research agenda and
collaborates with senior quantitative and fundamental partners on
findings. Informs investment decisions by analyzing financial information
to forecast business, industry, or economic conditions. Prepares plans of action for investment using financial
analyses. Generates charts and graphs to illustrate technical reports
using computer spreadsheets. Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting
investment programs of public or private institutions. Education and Experience: Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Accounting,
Economics, Finance, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely
related field and no experience. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing and building Machine
Learning (ML) predictive models, with a focus on portfolio manager
investment behavior decisions to identify investment biases,
including portfolio construction, position sizing, and chasing
return. DE building investment-oriented quantitative models based on
large fundamental and market-based financial data sets, using
time-series modeling, ML, and statistical and data science
techniques in the financial industry; and analyzing pitfalls in
time-series analysis for financial data including look ahead bias,
overfitting, and point-in-time data requirements. DE designing, developing, and productionizing Natural Language
Processing (NLP) models to extract insights from text data,
including research notes and earnings call transcripts, to create
alpha signals to augment the alpha capture strategies. DE designing, developing, and data modeling data intensive
applications to support predictive analytics within cloud
environments, using Python, Snowflake, SQL, and elastic computing
