Medical Affairs Lead - Scientific Communications and Medical
Information This newly created role, reporting to the Headof
Medical Affairs will lead the buildout of the Scientific
Communicationsand Medical Information strategy and capabilities.
Medical Information: You willsupport the development,
implementation, and execution of Medical Informationcontent and
services. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor the
oversight of Medical Information activities including participation
inplanning and implementation of Medical Information deliverables,
development ofmedical content for healthcare professionals and
consumers, and oversight ofvendor services, including
implementation and tracking of metrics and KPIs. In this role, we
will require a collaborative mindset, as you will partner
withinternal and external stakeholders and cross-functional
partners to develop,implement and monitor the Medical Information
strategy and objectives. Scientific Communications: Thisrole will
drive the overall scientific communication and publication
strategyfor the organization. This role will oversee the
development of prospective publicationplans, activities, and field
medical materials. You will work closely withinternal and external
authors and other stakeholders to create and executevarious medical
communication activities, such as publication planning(high-quality
disease state and product-related abstracts, posters,
andmanuscripts), congress activity, and physician networking. This
role will also be responsible for thecreation and revision of
medical content to support the field-based MedicalScience Liaison
(MSL) team. You will be responsible for the management ofmedical
communications agencies and for ensuring on-time,
high-qualitydeliverables. Location: Boston, MA.Candidates located
in other cities with exceptional qualifications will beconsidered.
JobResponsibilities:
--
----- Assist with the development of SOPs and working practices,in
collaboration with cross-functional and external partners
--- Responsible for managing thecontracted Medical Information Call
Center for all branded products to ensure compliant and efficient
processes are followed.
--- Lead launch readiness plans for theoutsourced call center that
meet the scientific needs of customers throughstrong collaboration
with all stakeholders
--- Develop, implement, and execute onMedical Information content
and services including collaboration with thevendor responsible for
the Medical Information call center.
--- Provide oversight for medical inquiryfulfilment process
--- Manage escalated inquiries from theMedical Information Call
Center.
--- Create and ensure delivery of timelyresponses to unsolicited
medical information inquiries/requests from payers andHCPs in a
multi-media environment and record information according regulatory
guidelines
--- Training of the call center personnelas needed
--- Develop and oversee generation oftimely, accurate, thorough and
balanced responses to unsolicited requests forinformation about
products from healthcare professionals and consumers,consistent
with regulatory guidelines, utilizing appropriate
informationresources.
--- Develop and update MedicalInformation standard responses with
new publications, congress data, andclinical trial information.
--- Maintains the repository of standardresponse documents across
all branded products
--- Collaborate with vendor to implementmedical information call
center structure, including the development,execution, and tracking
of metrics and KPIs.
--- Participate as SME ad hoc oncross-functional committees.
--- Remain current on relevantmedical/scientific therapeutic areas
of interest
--- .Provides product training tointernal and external colleagues
where applicable
--- Oversees the staffing of the MedicalInformation booth at
medical congresses/annual meetings
--- Develop and maintain a high level ofknowledge in the required
therapeutic areas to provide high quality crossfunctional
support.
--- Manages and prioritizes multipleprojects and provides input to
intricate problems and delivers solutions in atimely manner
--- Performs all duties in accordancewith the values, code of
conduct and complies to company directives,Policies/Standard
Operating Procedures and government and industry requirements
--- Manages the Medical Informationbudget.
ScientificCommunications: --- Manage all administrativerequirements
in support of publications plans, including managing
publicationsbudget
--- Actively manage the CMLR reviewprocess for publications
(poster, abstracts, manuscripts etc.) and MSLmaterials including
interactions with authors, medical writers, and allrelevant
stakeholders
--- Provide regular publication andcontent updates to all internal
stakeholders and serve as internal expert onall Corium
publications
--- Perform literature searches and gapanalysis in support of
robust publications plan development
--- Ensure alignment of the publicationsplan with all corporate
policies and industry guidelines
--- Lead the development of materials forMSL field use, including
disease state and product content
--- Manage relationships with medicalcommunications agencies
--- Collaborate internally and externally
--- Display excellent written and oralcommunication, presentation,
and organizational skills
--- Ensure scientific activities andsponsorships for key congresses
are planned and executed.
--- Implement a publication strategy(abstracts, congress
presentations and manuscripts).
--- Identify and manage consultants,vendors and agencies associated
with publications and congress planning. Ensuretimely and quality
deliverables are completed within budget.
--- Medical and scientific contentdevelopment, include developing
scientific exchange materials and educationalslide decks.
--- Represent the organization at medical meetings,conferences,
advisory boards, outreach meetings at key institutions,
andinteractions with thought leaders.
Educationand Required Licenses or Certifications:
--- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD,PharmD) with at least 4
years of biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry;medical
information/medical communication experience in
thepharmaceutical/biotech industry.
--- CNS therapeutic area experience andknowledge required, with
strong preference for ADHD experience
Yearsof Experience (# of years and type of experience):
--- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experiencein medical writing,
medical information/drug information, medical research
orpharmaceutical/biotechnology industry agency/vendor
experience
--- Minimum of 3 years in a medicalaffairs communications or
publications management role preferred.
KeySkills and Competencies:
--- Strong understanding of and adherenceto the legal and
regulatory guidelines affecting the dissemination of
medicalinformation and product promotion.
--- Ability to synthesize scientificinformation for healthcare
providers and consumers.
--- Preferred experienced in thedevelopment and implementation of
medical scientific communications materials.
--- Established proficiency inpublications/medical communications
management
--- Skilled at working effectively in acollaborative team
environment where results are achieved through influence andthe
incorporation of multiple points of view
--- Independently motivated, detailoriented and strong
problem-solving ability
--- Excellent organizational skills anddemonstrated ability to
multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changingpriorities
--- Proficient in managed care withprevious experience in evidenced
based medicine review and writing; knowledgeof healthcare-decision
making processes.
--- Prior use of publication software
--- Previous experience writingmanuscripts, abstracts and
posters
--- Experience interacting with vendorsand managing budget
--- Experience in prior launchenvironment is preferred
--- Excellent planning and organizationalskills
--- Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
--- Ability to efficiently manage timeand priorities
--- Ability to work in fast-pacedenvironment while working
collaboratively on multiple projects
--- Understanding of pharmaceutical andpromotional compliance

--- Up to 10% travel, including overnightand occasional weekend
travel
