The Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine
seek an outstanding candidate to join the Section of Infectious
Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Assistant or
Associate Professor level as an inpatient clinician.
The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to provide
inpatient clinical services for the diagnosis and treatment of
infectious diseases at Boston Medical Center. Teaching
responsibilities for this position will include precepting and
mentoring ID fellows, residents and medical students when on the
fellow-staffed consultation services or the inpatient ID medical
service. There will also be responsibilities for attending-only
consultation service.
The ID Section has expertise treating infections in patients with a
wide range of comorbidities and immunocompromising conditions and
has particular clinical strengths in HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and
infections in patients with opioid-use disorders; infection control
and antimicrobial stewardship; tuberculosis; and travel- and
migration-related diseases, in particular, Chagas disease. Our
research strengths include epidemiology, health services and
implementation research, emerging infections, tuberculosis and
global health. There are many opportunities to collaborate on
projects with faculty across the institution, including the BU
School of Public Health (BUSPH) and/or the National Emerging
Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL).

Skills:
Candidates should have significant clinical and academic experience
in general infectious diseases and HIV medicine. The Section offers
many opportunities to participate in clinical research and quality
improvement activities.
Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree, be board eligible
in Infectious Diseases (certification is preferred), and have
demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching.How should
