Job Description:
Position Summary - We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join
our innovative Pediatric Float pool to meet the ever-changing
staffing needs across the enterprise; with the opportunity to bring
your expertise and work in a variety of inpatient settings. Key
Responsibilities - Providing competent nursing care to patients
(newborn – adult) and their families across all inpatient settings
including the surgical, medical, oncology and neuroscience units. -
Potential for cross training in additional areas including
Emergency Department, Gastroenterology Procedure Unit (GPU), IV
team, Inpatient Psychiatry and Infusion Centers. - Delivering
family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that
provides expert care. - Working in a fast paced, collaborative
environment with many opportunities for learning and career growth
with comprehensive orientation to meet individual needs. -
Opportunities to be involved in hospital wide committees and to
precept new staff and nursing students. Minimum Qualifications
Education: - A bachelor's degree in nursing Experience: - A minimum
of 1-year inpatient acute care RN experience required with a wide
range of diagnoses preferred. Pediatrics RN experience preferred. -
Ability to work 50% Day/Night rotations, every third weekend, and
flexibility of availability required. Straight nights with every
third weekend also available. Licensure/Certifications - Current
Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN) This position is
eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus for 36 hour per week hires
(pro-rated for less than 36 hours) for RNs with a minimum of 1 year
of pediatrics inpatient RN experience. (Not eligible for internal
candidates and not eligible for former BCH employees who have
worked here in the past 2 years). Additional $8.00/ hour incentive
for all hours worked. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s
reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of
posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience,
education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related
factors. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive benefits package
