This opportunity seeks a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile student with special needs. The role involves accompanying and supporting the student during transportation between home and school, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. This position is based in the Boston area, specifically involving travel from Billerica, MA to Lexington, MA, with responsibilities during standard school hours. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care and monitor the health status of a medically fragile student during transportation and school hours Assist the student in preparation for the special education van trips from home to school and school to home Collaborate with onsite nursing staff at the students educational placement to ensure continuity of care Function as a floating nurse within the district when not assigned to transportation duties Maintain accurate health and medication records in compliance with school nursing protocols Desired Qualifications: Valid RN or LPN licensure in the state of Massachusetts Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred Ability to work mornings starting between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., with dismissal around 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Compassionate and patient-centered approach to medically fragile students needs Flexibility to perform duties both in the transportation setting and across the school district Location: Billerica, MA (with travel to Lexington, MA for student transportation) Duration: Contract through June 2026 (Current School Year) This role offers a rewarding chance to support a students educational journey by ensuring their health needs are carefully managed throughout the day.
