Job Description:
Brief Overview Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner,
Ophthalmology Key Responsibilities: - Providing comprehensive
healthcare services to patients in Pediatric Ophthalmology. -
Obtaining comprehensive patient histories and performing physical
exams for both new and return patients. - Performing pre-operative,
post operative and urgent Ophthalmology evaluations in the
Ophthalmology clinic. - Assisting with procedures both in the
clinic setting and in the operating room. - Participates in
multidisciplinary clinics and communicate effectively with all
members of the team. - Ordering necessary diagnostic tests,
consultations and procedures and issuing appropriate
prescriptions/medications. - Actively participating in Department
of Ophthalmology educational meetings and conferences. - Working 40
hours per week: five 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday and will
rotate primarily between Boston, Waltham, and Needham. Occasional
shifts at our MEEI location as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Education: - A Master of Physician Assistant Studies - A Master of
Science in Nursing Experience: - Previous OR experience is
preferred - Prior Ophthalmology/Pediatric experience strongly
preferred - New grad PAs will be considered Licensure/
Certifications: - A current license from the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse
Practitioner (FNP or PNP) - If a Nurse Practitioner, must also have
a Surgical First Assistant certification. bchAPP The posted pay
range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation
for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided
depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a
variety of other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of a
