This opportunity is for a registered nurse with a Master of Science in Oncology to provide specialized patient care in a Radiation Oncology department. The role involves working closely with patients receiving radiation treatments, focusing on new patient visits, education, occasional injections, and supporting procedures. The position requires compassionate care and teamwork in a busy, professional environment dedicated to oncology patients. Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive care to radiation oncology patients during treatment cycles. - Conduct new patient visits and provide detailed education about their treatment plans. - Perform occasional injections and assist with medical procedures as needed. - Manage telephone triage to address patient questions and concerns promptly. - Collaborate with a skilled team to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. - Work primarily day shifts, with occasional after-hours support to complete patient treatments. Qualifications and Desired Experience: - Licensed Registered Nurse with MS specialization in Oncology. - BLS certification required. - Flu vaccination required. - Preferred experience with IV insertion and mediport access but not mandatory. - Excellent communication and patient education skills. - Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a dynamic oncology setting. Schedule: - Day shifts, 8-hour shifts. - 4 shifts per week, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. - Occasional extended hours based on patient needs. - 40 hours per week.
