Advisor, Career Development Boston | Full - Time | Partially
Remote Role Overview The Advisor, Career Development serves as both
a skilled practitioner and internal thought leader for workforce
and career mobility, providing specialized career coaching to
clients, supporting colleagues with career planning strategies for
their clients, and developing workshops, tools, and training that
elevate career development across Compass programs. Reporting
Structure: Reports to a Coaching Manager and collaborates closely
with the Manager, Programs Learning and Development. Skills We’re
Looking For: Mastery of foundational personal finance subjects and
financial coaching. Strong interpersonal skills wi t h the ability
to establish and build trusting relationships wi t h clients and
colleagues. Ability to identify challenges, formulate solutions,
and implement changes by dra wi ng on expertise and input from
others. Excellent organizational skills wi t h the ability to
prioritize tasks, mana g e time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Skilled in using technology and systems to monitor , tra ck, and
manage work needs , wi t h ability to analyze data and make data
driven decisions to improve work. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, including the ability to explain complex
information in plain language. Primary Responsibilities Advanced
Financial Coaching Provide expert-level financial coaching and
exceptional client service to a portf olio of up to 75 clients,
setting the standard for coaching excellence within the de par
tment. Par tner wi t h clients to achieve their financial goals by
delivering culturally responsive, accessible, and traum a-informed
coaching aligned wi t h Comp ass methodology . Set the standard for
quality ass urance by performing timely , error-free data entry in
full compliance wi t h agency and regulatory protocols. Safeguard
confidential client information according to organizational
security standards. Identify and integrate community resources and
referrals based on client needs and goals to enhance client
outcomes. Serve as a key point of contact for program graduates
within their area of expertise, sup por t ing continued progress
beyond program completion. Specialized Coaching & Career
Advancement Sup por t Provide specialized employment and career
coaching to clients across programs; assist clients in resolving
and mitigating barriers to employment, applying to jobs, creating
resumes, pre par ing for interviews, retaining employment, and
other career advancement activities. Sup por t integration of
career and employment goal-setting into broader financial coaching
practice across teams. Mentor and provide specialized guidance to
Financial Coaches and Senior Coaches, sharing expertise to elevate
coaching quality and client outcomes related to career coaching and
workforce developmen t . Serve as an escalation resource across
programs for complex client cases involving employment barriers or
career tra nsitions. Career Development Expertise & Content
Delivery Serve as Comp ass ’s internal expert in workforce
development and career mobility, maintaining up-to-date knowledge
of emerging trends and best practices , integrating innovations
into organizational practice . Create and deliver career and
workforce development workshops and educational content for
clients. Develop resources and tools that strengthen client career
outcomes for program graduates. Contribute specialized content to
Comp ass tra ining curriculum, webinars, and conferences. Pursue
relevant professional development and certifications to deepen
expertise and credibility. Leadership and Cross-Team Collaboration
Partner with the Manager of Programs Learning and Development
integrate career development content across all coaching levels and
training curricula. I nform priorities for referral par tnerships
and external career sup por t needs for clients. E nsure
utilization of integrated workflow to tra ck utilization of
specialized services and ass ess impact in area of specialization.
Use coaching data, client feedback, and emerging workforce trends
to recommend improvements to Comp ass ’s career development sup por
t s tra tegy. Qualifications 4 years of financial coaching or
financial counseling experience , wi t h specialized knowledge in
career development or workforce advancement . Demons tra ted
ability to achieve and exceed Comp ass coaching standards .

Ability to fulfill in-person job duties as and/or tra vel as
needed. Preferred Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified
Financial Planner (CFP), or other relevant financial coaching or
counseling certification strongly preferred . Additional
certifications and experience in workforce development or career
coaching . Experience facilitating workshops and developing
curriculum Prior experience working wi t h families and communities
wi t h low incomes Proficiency or fluency in Spanish,
Haitian-Creole, Cantonese, Amharic, or other languages commonly
spoken by clients. Benefits The salary range for this role is
$60,000 – $69,000, commensurate with experience. We’ll promote your
