We are DISH Wireless.-- Job Duties and Responsibilities DISH Wireless is seeking a Standards Manager for the Transport Team. The transport team is responsible for designing and implementing DISH's long haul and metro fiber optic/microwave transport network to meet network services capacity, vulnerability, diversity and growth requirements within a given market and/or region. Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
            • Responsible for hiring, developing and managing a team of transport technical engineers
            • Maintaining, interpreting and lead revisions of the standards for DISH Wireless transport network to ensure the highest levels of credibility, and performance of the network.
            • Evaluate ILEC/CLEC and AAV transport network's specifications and recommend new ILEC/CLEC and AAV in a given region/market to sourcing team.
            • Periodically review and identify any problems with current implementation and develop solutions that ensure the transport network is meeting 5G services requirements.
              
            • Manage operational and work assignments of the team to ensure consistency of approach and design assumptions
            • Establish strong rapport amongst team members, supporting national practices that drive employee engagement and productivity
            • Responsible for writing and maintaining technical documentation for fiber optic networks, microwave networks, voice and data traffic engineering and data center
            • Actively contribute to improvements and ensure work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards #LI-SL3 Skills, Experience and Requirements The successful Manager of Transport Standards will have:
              • BS or MS in Engineering or technical degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
              • 8+ years of wireless network experience
              • Technical understanding of transport networks
              • Well familiar with various telecom standards like: 3GPP, IEEE, and ITU-T.
              • High energy to maintain a sense of urgency and to set the tone for all teams involved
              • At least 5-7 years of experience managing engineers and various stakeholders
              • Dynamic personality and can quickly establish trust and rapport with all levels of the organization
              • Strong ability to document, vet requirements, and drive quality
              • Excellent writing skills
              • Detailed understanding of Optical Networks, OTN, DWDM, ROADM, FOADM, SDH, SONET, 40G/100G/200G/400G coherent optical transmission technologies, Ethernet, Wave, Switching, Routing, Data Networks, DCN, Synchronization of optical networks
              • Working knowledge with various interface SDH/OTN/DWDM products like Ciena (6500, CPL, 5430, 5410), Cisco ONS15454 DWDM, Infinera (DNT-X, XT), Juniper MX/PTX TCX1000 series routers and switches, and Alcatel Lucent (1830 PSS4/PSS32/PSS64)
