Job DescriptionSr. Software Program Manager Job Description: This is a high-impact role for an experienced Sr. Software Program Manager to be part of the team defining a new Bose product category that will improve people's lives in ways they didn't imagine possible. Responsibilities: We are looking for exceptional candidates who can:

  • As an Agile practitioner, lead and synchronize multiple software development teams and other internal groups to design, build, test, and release software on time and with high quality.
  • Manage SW PM team including hiring team members
  • Coordinate and drive requirement gathering and translation activities between Product Management and Engineering.
  • Drive development schedules and release planning, handle interdependencies between development teams, strive for architectural convergence, identify and manage critical software delivery risks.
  • Work closely with Quality Manager to ensure procedures are followed in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Engage appropriately to quickly make the right trade-offs, escalate issues if required, and build valued working relationships with technical subject matter experts, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills, outstanding written and verbal communication talent, and an appropriate aptitude for user experience design, software development and test methodologies, & hardware/software integration.
  • Routinely communicate project--status to team, organization, and stakeholders. Required skills & knowledge:
    • Experience managing medical device software projects including knowledge of design practices required by either FDA guidance and IEC 62304 Medical Software Life Cycle processes, is highly preferred.
    • Cross-functional program/project management involving embedded, cloud and mobile application software development environments.
    • Program/project management experience on new product development programs
    • Experience in managing 3rd party development partners.
    • Experience with SCRUM framework - environment, methodologies, ceremonies and tools
    • Prior software development or test experience using web technologies, mobile platforms (iOS/Android), C++, and/or Java is a plus.
    • Training and experience in building high performing teams is highly preferred
    • Familiarity with software development life cycle and ability to integrate software development plans into integrated project plans and schedules. Education and Experience:
      • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field; advanced degrees welcome but not required.
