You will demonstrate and expand your Cloud and DevOps expertise to build complex and sophisticated systems which are critical to our national security in the areas of Command & Control (C2) for Air and Space operations.Responsibilities include:Designs and develops software systems or applications for improvements and new productsConducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of computer hardware and softwareConducts operational, architecture and impact analysis spanning both software and hardware architecturesDevelops system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control modelsInvestigates systems that exhibit intelligent behavior to accomplish tasks that involve capabilities such as perception, learning, navigation, planning, and cooperationBasic Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearancesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related fieldAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearanceProficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and WordMust have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skillsProficient in one or more high-level languages (e.g., Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, C++)Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and multi-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts)Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, Terraform)Experience with VMs and Containers (e.g., -Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, -Docker)Experience DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Jenkins)Technical task leadership experienceA desire to continually learn and master new technologiesAbility to communicate highly technical issues in less technical terms to a wide variety of partner audiencesCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in technical field of study10 years of experience2 years of leadership experienceCandidates that possess a current/active DoD Secret clearance are preferredWorking knowledge of Source Control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion)Experience with directory services (LDAP, AD) and SSHExperience with the automation of network routing, VM template creation, and/or test engineering pipelinesExperience with full stack web developmentThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. -Newly hired employees must be fully vaccinated prior to their employment start date. -MITRE will provide reasonable accommodation to individuals who are legally entitled to an exemption under applicable laws so long as it does not create an undue hardship for MITRE and/or does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of the employee or others in the workplace.MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
