websites and a variety of retail partners. What You'll Be Doing:
The Product Developer at Samsonite is an integral member of a
highly collaborative Design team.-- This role is part-project
manager, part-product developer, and part-product engineer, acting
as the bridge between designers, sourcing, and offshore factory
merchandisers to complete projects within the company's published
timelines, costing and spending goals. You will work on-site 4 days
per week with the opportunity to work remotely one day per
week.
- Acting as a partner to Design, Sourcing, and several other
internal teams
- Managing product development from timeline adherence, material
sourcing, costing, through to production handover
- Partnering with designers and factory teams to create technical
illustrations and BOM specifications
- Communicating product status and suggesting process improvement
cross-functionally
- Working with design to bring their vision to life, balancing
cost, and commercial requirements
- Maintaining various Product Development tools, including
accurate records of styles and costing We're Excited If You Have:
- 5+ years experience developing luggage, bags, hard goods, or
footwear
- BS/BA related field
- Experience working with global manufacturers and suppliers
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel (3D /
Solidworks a plus)
- Basic knowledge of pattern making
- Strong communication skills and ability to make judgment calls
on critical communication and approvals with Asia-based
