The Role
Fidelity Labs is looking to add a Software Architect to our team to work on an exciting new fintech business venture. As a key part of our cross-functional team you will rapidly build and test new ideas. We seek a hands-on systems designer with a software engineering background, who has demonstrated proficiency at applying innovative technologies to \u201Creal world\u201D ideas.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Demonstrated expertise and proven track record for designing scalable, resilient, cloud native platforms
• Proven cloud knowledge and deep understanding of AWS and Azure services
• Expertise in cloud data services including Azure PostgreSQL, EnterpriseDB, AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Snowflake
• Expertise in data management standard methodologies such as data integration, data security, data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data quality
• Working knowledge in all aspects of technical architecture (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization)
• Expertise in all aspects of cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, security, platforms and data)
• Hands-on experience of working directly with Product and Design teams
• Experience with Lean Startup and Design Thinking methodologies a plus
• Deep knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, and their application to business opportunities
• Ability to deliver architecture roadmaps and technical documentation
• Ability to work as part of a team in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment

• Owns the strategic design and strategy for our database and cloud infrastructure needs

• Escalate issues and risks to executive management for timely resolution
• Drives build/ buy/partner strategies, determining the best approach to product creation based on understanding the business drivers and product strategy
• Build relationships with core business line architects and technology leaders to develop a deep understanding of core business platforms and work collaboratively to define an approach to integrating new offerings that balances speed and scale
• Develops and maintains a network of industry contacts; performs or directs research on industry trends, competitors, business and IT products; analyses trends and makes strategic and tactical recommendations
