Job Description:
Overview :
We are seeking to hire a Cisco Wireless Engineer that will be
mainly responsible for reviewing and implementing network related
changes to support our Cisco Wireless environment. The Cisco
Wireless Engineer will provide 2nd tier Support for all Cisco
Wireless network issues and Connectivity. The incumbent will
troubleshoot network and security related issues with a focus on
but not limited to network aspects the incumbent is responsible for
to determine a cause.
The Cisco Wireless Engineer will provide end to end resolution or
support of all wireless network and security related incidents by
utilizing, and configuring wireless network, monitoring and
security tools and resources including joint resolution with
application groups, systems groups, engineering teams, multiple
vendors, and customers. The Cisco Wireless Engineer configures and
supports enterprise management tools to automate tasks in the daily
operation of the network and deliver service solutions for the
customer. Our customers include all Executive Branch Secretariats
and agencies, Judicial branch, Legislative branch, and others at
various levels of local, State and Federal government. The
incumbent will be responsible for onsite resolution to network
outages when such problems cannot be resolved remotely. The
incumbent will configure and supports enterprise management tools
to automate network and wireless tasks in the daily operation of
the network and deliver service solutions for the customer. The
incumbent will also be responsible for administering our DNAC
application, which will include setting up of alerts, maintaining
the integrity of all data that is in DNAC as well as work on
reporting, and outages. He will also assist with the administration
of the wireless controllers, wherever they may be deployed.
Responsibilities:
Provide end to end resolution or support of all wireless related
incidents by utilizing, and configuring network, monitoring and
security tools and resources including joint resolution with
application groups, systems groups, engineering teams, multiple
vendors and customers.
Provides support to teams and departments with technical expertise
in TCP/IP, Ethernet, routers, and switches, wireless and
security.
Configure and supports enterprise management tools to automate
network and wireless tasks in the daily operation of the network
and deliver service solutions for the customer.
Onsite resolution to network outages when such problems cannot be
resolved remotely
Wireless support, troubleshooting and incident management, work
with Cisco DNAC to identify AP status, troubleshoot and
Lead joint resolution teams for critical enterprise service
availability incidents
ssist with Network Projects with our network Engineering teams when
applicable
ttend bi-weekly status meetings and provide status updates to your
manager.
Stay current with network and infrastructure technologies through
various methods including online research, vendor hosted seminars
and conferences, free online courses and paid courses paid by
TSS.
Implement and customize the following enterprise network management
tools: Orion Solar Winds , Cisco NAM and Juniper, Riverbed
technologies, Cisco DNAC for wireless
Supporting any and all WIFI hardware and software along with any
handheld device issues.

of alerts, maintaining the integrity of all data that is in PRIME
as well as work on reporting, and outages.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5 years of network management and network operations support
related experience specifically at a large network enterprise with
a 100+ customer base.
5 years of experience and knowledge in delivering network
benchmarks for enterprise applications
Extensive ability in network incident resolution for layer 2 and 3
availability incidents, performance incidents, and resolutions
requiring team-based resolution with peers and vendors
Extensive experience and hands-on knowledge in analyzing packet
captures, capable of isolating abnormal client-host
communication
Experience in implementing and customization of the following
enterprise network management tools: Orion Solar Winds , Cisco DNAC
for wireless.
Experience in customer relationship management with the ability to
manage and direct needs assessments and present
Experience with technical documentation and presentation skills
with hands-on exposure in using VISIO.
Experience and training for configuration of cisco, Juniper and
other manufacturers switches and routers.
Experience with Enterprise wide NetFlow solution
Experience with customizing and implementing SNMP on all routers
and switches
Experience with syslog messages, ability to create, customize and
properly react to all messages required.
Qualifications acquired on job / leveraging some of our existing
platforms like Juniper and Checkpoint
bility to understand and follow sometimes-complex oral and written
instructions.
Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and
interpersonal skills with a high degree of attention to detail
Valid drivers license and ability to lift up to 35lbs.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelors Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business
Administration or other related field, or equivalent work
experience.
