Raytheon is hiring a *Simulation Software Development Engineer* to support our teams in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. You will work within the Air & Missile Defense Software Department on the Patriot Simulation team. Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system, and we are currently developing Patriot training software in support of new system capabilities. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern languages and computing platforms.

• What You Will Do*
• The Patriot Simulation team develops Patriot test support software to assist in tactical software integration and software validation testing.
• Will be working with a team of software engineers to maintain/develop Patriot Simulation software.
• Maintain existing functionality and develop new features for Simulation software.
• Collaborate with other teams to support requirements analysis, software integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
• Support generation of documentation including, Requirements, design documentation and Software Trouble Reports.
• This position requires onsite presence and extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineering and the Software Development Team.
• Light travel may be required.
• Off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may also be required.
• Qualifications You Must Have*
• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of experience.
• Experience in Software Engineering.
• Experience with C/C++.
• Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Qualifications We Prefer*
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience in developing software using object-oriented C/C++ and other Object Oriented programming languages.
• Experience with Network Communication Protocols.
• Experience in Shell Scripting (tcsh, csh, bash).
• Experience with software development tools like Git/Clearcase.

  The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
