Job Description:

looking for a seasoned Principal Data Engineer to join our Boston
team. This critical role focuses on designing and building
next-generation data and analytics platforms to drive innovation
and enhance our financial products. Our ideal candidate will
harness vast amounts of data to drive optimization, improve product
offerings, and deliver actionable insights to guide strategic
decisions across our global operations. As a Principal Data
Engineer, you will lead the architecture and development of data
solutions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with
stakeholders to support Fidelity's goal of making financial
expertise broadly accessible. Design, construct, install, test and
maintain highly scalable data management systems Ensure systems
meet business requirements and industry practices Build
high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and
proof of concepts Research opportunities for data acquisition and
new uses for existing data Develop data set processes for data
modeling, mining and production Integrate new data management
technologies and software engineering tools into existing
structures Create custom software components and analytics
applications Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry
systems together Recommend ways to improve data reliability,
efficiency, and quality Collaborate with data architects, modelers
and IT team members on project goals Expertise in SQL and NoSQL
databases, database theory, and languages Strong experience with
big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. Experience with data
pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured
datasets Proficiency with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS,
Redshift Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm,
Spark-Streaming, etc. Knowledge of machine learning toolkits and
libraries: Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, etc. Medical Insurance Dental
