NFPA's Information Technology team is searching for an experienced IT Project Manager to join the team! The IT project manager is responsible for developing plans and overseeing IT projects across a broad spectrum of disciplines. This individual defines project functional requirements and scope, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress of projects. This individual must possess excellent communication skills and make judgments based on experience. The project manager must have a well-rounded background in the IT field and stay abreast of new technologies-including new project management techniques and tools. A Little Bit About You: You have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years of applicable experience in a technical project management role. Managing the execution of complex processes from beginning to end including planning, requirements, design, testing, and cutover is your bread and butter! You have in-depth experience in managing within traditional waterfall and Agile SDLC environments - PMP or Agile Certification is definitely a plus! Effective communication and forging strong working relationships with people at all levels of an organization to technical and non-technical co-workers is a priority of yours - and ours. You have knowledge of web application architecture and technologies. You have a unique combination of project management and business systems analysis skills - giving you a well-rounded base of knowledge. You own your role and take responsibility for your output, following through, and understand that mistakes happen and can be learned from. The Nitty Gritty: Manage execution of complex cross functional projects from beginning to end including all phases - planning, requirements, design, testing and cutover Manages development project lifecycle including project initiation, ongoing development, testing, deployments, and retrospectives Develops & maintains project documentation throughout all stages of the project lifecycle Organizes project meetings including daily scrums, sprint planning, and backlog grooming Ensures compliance to PM methodology standards, technology standards, and security standards Monitors project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with all project members Identifies and assists the team in the management, mitigation and resolution of project-related issues, dependencies, and risks as needed Prepares regular project status reports on project progress Manages relationships with the project team, third-party resources and divisional business groups Works with software developers, end-users, to spec, build, test, and deploy system enhancements and bug fixes. Writes system business requirements, test plans, and system documentation. Works with vendors and other NFPA managers to ensure adequate resources are in place to complete the required work assignments in the specified timeframe Facilitates issue resolution between project and functional area Helps manage incoming demand as well as plan IT capacity/resources Apply for this Job
