Your Role and Responsibilities Work with clients in a consultative manner, to perform analysis and determine how/if a learning solution will close a performance gap either alone or in conjunction with other non-learning interventions Create instructionally sound learning interventions using knowledge of andragogy and neuroscience principles that will close performance gaps Formulate learning objectives based on interviews with clients and document client requirements by interviewing clients Utilize client source materials and SME input to organize content into meaningful learning chunks Determine best instructional strategies using knowledge of adult learning theory to meet client learning expectations Suggest delivery system alternatives based on client and learner needs, taking into account budgetary constraints. Design evaluation instruments to measure learning effectiveness and perform measurement of learning effectiveness and offer improvements to new or existing learning interventions Communicate regularly with the PM, reporting progress and staying within project hour allocations and adhering to budget limits Ability to scope and estimate tasks and timeline for learning projects, and to lead teams and clients for learning projects Finally, design organization-wide learning strategy that will move an organization from an existing point, to a desired point Required Technical and Professional Expertise 7 years working as an Instructional Designer Experience in learning analysis, creating learning strategy documents, curriculum plans, learning design documents, development scripts and storyboards, etc. 5 years as a Lead Instructional Designer - leads and directs other Instructional Designers, Courseware Engineers, Testers, Artists, etc. on the project team, under the direction of a Project Manager 5+ years focused on instructional design work with corporate clients, interacting with external clients, and SMEs 2 years of experience scoping and estimating learning project tasks with regard to timeline and cost Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional, Learning, or other related design program Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise Quality assurance skills that include knowledge of APA format, knowledge of copyright laws and intellectual property laws Familiar with a wide range of authoring tools such as Lectora, Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, etc. About Business Unit IBM Services is a team of business, strategy and technology consultants that design, build, and run foundational systems and services that is the backbone of the world's economy.
