R&D Reagent Scientist - Histology, Multiplex IHC, Cell Biology, IHC, Imaging




Associate Scientist will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and take part in developing Multiplex Fluorescent Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Reagents products for use in cutting-edge research. This role requires a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Certification. This position also includes working for the Quality team to provide technical support for new and on-market products QC. The desired skillset for laboratory work includes the ability to perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures and analytical analysis for product development and product support. Your work will mainly involve manual laboratory work and the use of automated stainer systems for monoplex and multiplex fluorescence tissue staining.




Qualification Requirements:


BS/MS in Cell Biology with 2+ years' experience, with experience in Histology, Microscopy, IHC, IF and imaging.
Requires a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Certification
2-5 yrs experience with Fluorescence Microscopy, Image Analysis and automated IHC stainer is a plus
Hands-on expertise with Immunostaining (Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence)
Broad laboratory experience and skills in Biology, Biochemistry and Assay Development
A thorough understanding of experimental design and the ability to perform troubleshooting experiments
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment, working on multiple projects with evolving priorities and deadlines.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Routine Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Immunofluorescence (IF) staining on tissue sections manually or on an automated IHC stainer
Develop and improve methods and applications to support Reagent products
Conduct functional and analytical testing to support new and existing Reagent products.
Record experimental results of research and development projects in laboratory notebooks
Collaborate with team members and other project staff to accomplish specific tasks and team objectives within project timelines. Provide timely feedback when dates for individual items cannot be met.
Contribute to experimental design, planning and scientific execution of research projects
Author and review validation reports, standard operating procedures, and technical reports
General laboratory work includes sample/ reagent preparation and equipment maintenance and housekeeping
Assist with QA/QC activities as needed
Follow company policies and safety practices, including training, lab safety, record keeping and ISO or GLP as appropriate
