Role Summary: The Paralegal is an integral member of the GE Corporate, Securities and Finance legal team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and organization of GE Board of Directors and board committee minutes, materials and minute books
  • Assist with matters of corporate governance, including dividend declarations and notifications, charters, policies and procedures, insider trading compliance, oversight of governance section of GE public website and of internal website
  • Assist with SEC and public company reporting, including:
  • Proxy Statement and Annual Shareowner Meeting
  • Filings on SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K

  • Manage process for and execution of filings with the New York Stock Exchange Listing Manager and international stock exchanges
  • Assist with preparation of investor outreach materials, including maintenance of institutional investor database
  • Assist with responses to select surveys from third parties relating to governance matters
  • Perform other related duties as required, including liaising with other departments as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or high school diploma
  • Minimum of five years relatable experience (corporate governance, paralegal or similar experience a plus)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office product suite

  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Displays commitment to excellence and attention to detail (e.g., spelling, punctuation, etc.)
  • Maintains confidentiality of information, exercises appropriate discretion and uses information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently under general direction, with latitude for initiative and independent judgment
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally at all levels within the organization
  • Works ethically and with integrity aligned with organizational goals and values
  • Completes work in a timely manner, prioritizes competing demands appropriately and meets deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Public company corporate governance experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Willingness and ability to learn new corporate governance software tools
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit and treats others with respect
  • Fosters collaboration toward a common vision and shared goals
  • Massachusetts Notary Public or willing to obtain
