The role of Bench worker is to perform a variety of metal
finishing operations including; deburring, hand grinding, polishing
and etching while maintaining quality Tecomet standards. The role
requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles
of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win
first culture, while meeting company financial and other
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of metal finishing operations including
deburring, hand grinding, polishing, and etching.
Receive work order, drawings, and parts to be finished.
After instruction from Supervisor/Lead person, select and
utilize hand and power tools such as grinders, sanders, drills and
drill bits, knives, deburring tools, etc.
Etch number identifications on various parts where specified,
using etching equipment.
Perform critical, close tolerance deburring/finishing of
minute/very small parts where radii and chamber/edges are critical,
using microscope and small tools.
Inspect all finished parts for quality/specification
requirements and place in containers/trays, and tag or record order
Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment,
defective materials and unusual conditions to Supervisor/Lead
Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly
Follow established company rules and regulations, safety
precautions, and maintain quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to operate belt grinders.
Must be mechanically inclined and able to deburr, sandblast,
tape and inspect parts.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions with the ability
to read blue prints.
- Previous experience using prints, micrometers and vernier's a
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Use of reading, writing, adding and subtracting whole numbers,
following instructions, use of fixed gauges, direct reading
instruments and similar devices, where interpretation is not
The work environment is representative and typical of similar

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be
required to stand. The employee could frequently be required to
walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and
arms and talk or hear. The employee could be required to sit; climb
or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could
occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision
