WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

New Ways of Working (NWoW) is a key transformation initiative underpinning the Bain strategy. The objectives of the initiative are to ensure Partners, Associate Partners and Senior Managers across the globe are capable and comfortable in setting new standards of excellence in delivering results to the client, in line with Bain's strategy to:

  • Out-team: Embedding expertise into our case teams, both inside-Bain expertise, and the external ecosystem partners with whom we team
  • Out-innovate: Both what we deliver (products, solutions, prototypes, applications, etc.) and how we deliver (agile delivery methodologies, close client collaboration and capability building, virtual and hybrid teaming

Working directly for Bain's Chief Talent Officer (CTO), the Global NWoW team is focused on operationalizing the NWoW transformation initiative, supporting and providing change management across Bain's base of 12,500+ employees.

In addition to providing targeted training and education and ongoing stakeholder management support for case teams, the Global NWoW team is focused on a range of change management initiatives for which the NWoW team works hand-in-hand with Bain's senior leaders, including:

  • Leadership of our 'expert groups' (groupings of expertise that serve specific client needs spanning senior expertise to help sell, advise and deliver work, advanced analytics, (digital) product design and innovation, digital marketing and more)
  • Office heads, and regional managing partners
  • Regional and global industry and capability practice leaders
  • The broader Partner team and Senior Manager / Associate Partner body
  • Other senior leaders including the COO, CFO, etc.

WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

The 'Manager, New Ways of Working and Global Talent' will be responsible for driving Operations, Content and Training on the New Ways of Working team. In this role you will reporting to the Senior Director on the team. You can also be expected to assist in the annual strategic planning process to develop and define the Global NWoW team's focus areas for following years. In addition, the Manager will directly supervise the Senior Specialist on the team.

In addition to supporting the Global NWoW team, the 'Manager, New Ways of Working and Global Talent' will be expected to support with a broader set of Global Talent (i.e., Human Capital) functional excellence projects that the Senior Director on the team is involved in. These could span the spectrum of talent topics, from recruiting to training to professional development, and more.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Engage with Bain leaders, particularly through data (e.g., quarterly NWoW updates based on NWoW dashboard, key learnings from NWoW surveys for our senior leaders)
  • Run NWoW office champion network to build sense of community in local offices (NWoW office champions are a network of typically Partner-level leaders in each of Bain's offices who support and help to mobilize offices against the NWoW initiative
  • Capture and disseminate learnings from pilots
  • Synthesize feedback / learnings from specific cases
  • Connect the dots re: cross-NWoW strategic questions, including suggesting actions to drive change
  • Run NWoW program management network (focused on Americas)
  • Advocate for NWoW in global trainings
  • Creating training curriculum for Expert Client Delivery
  • Systemic effort to improve usage, wayfinding and knowledge of NWoW

  • Help drive change on various talent initiatives

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or master's degree with outstanding academic credentials preferred
  • Knowledge of, and practice experience with, the leading business and analytic tools
  • Ability to structure and lead complex business research and analysis in fast-paced environment, as well as the skills to drive to pragmatic business insights
  • Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills, and is a proven self-starter (comfortable with what will likely be a remote supervisor and team)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish credibility with senior leaders
  • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Experience and proficiency creating high quality presentations
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • Collaborative - someone who knows how to work with and through others to drive results and make change happen, as well is customer service orientated
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and productive - someone who knows how to prioritize what needs to be done and rallies colleagues to get things accomplished; "roll up the sleeves" type of attitude
  • Motivational and compelling in oral and written communication skills; engaging and concise - with interpersonal "presence"; adaptable across Bain audiences
  • Energetic, with drive, enthusiasm, and natural skills in relationship development; well-connected, with an extensive network of potentially relevant relationships and have a proven ability to influence and drive consensus among multiple parties
  • A great colleague and teammate - passionate about the task at hand and fun to be around; someone with whom Bainies and clients go out of their way to work
