Job Description Summary

GE is seeking a digitally savvy Technical Program Manager to partner with business leaders from Corporate Communications, Marketing, Investor Relations & Technical teams (VIP Support, Event Support, Collaboration Products, etc.) to create & manage Company event runbooks, project plans, budgets, timelines, deliverables & collaboration within & across teams to deliver successful external-facing events (e.g. annual shareholder events, quarterly results, etc.).

This role must be a skilled communicator who keeps partners continually informed & simplifies messaging and actions required so our key stakeholders and partners focus on their work. This role must manage critical milestones, customer experience, dependencies & impact. The candidate will be in command of complex event technical logistics, including, but not limited to outlining monthly/quarterly/yearly plans, scoping discussion, sourcing, managing technology support for speakers & vendors, and creating dynamic production schedules.

Job Description

The ideal candidate is skilled at producing both in-person and virtual experiences. They are comfortable with digital environments and have a proven track record of creating high quality virtual events utilizing various technology platforms.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Able to influence others on topics within field.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in high pressured environments with limited timeframes for analysis and feedback. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.

  • Anticipate, identify and resolve technical problems, applying subject matter knowledge in complex, difficult or extreme time constrained situations

  • Manage numerous variables in preparing for live events, including IT services such as client, LAN, wireless, AV, conference room, telepresence, mobile and physical connectivity.

  • Ensure all business policies and standards related to client services, IT security and compliance are being met

  • Proactively and positively represent the brand of the IT support team to provide effective and impactful broadcast and communication technology solutions to senior leaders.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive runbooks, project plans, managing activities and milestones, and regularly communicating with business and leadership teams.

  • Outline yearly/quarterly/monthly/weekly working calendar to ensure leadership & team visibility

  • Collaborate with multiple partners and teams across a matrix organization for Company event strategy, execution and delivery

  • Propose business process enhancements, simplification opportunities, and alternative solutions to drive desired outcomes

  • Drive continuous process improvement leveraging Lean management methodologies.

  • Provide regular and proactive updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project status

  • Be accessible outside normal business hours as needed to handle and resolve urgent technology issues that may arise

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or 4 years equivalent working experience) with 8+ years of experience, including minimum 5 years leading technology solutions for Broadcast / Company Events

  • 3+ years experience managing, mentoring & leading others in a matrix environment

  • Excellent customer service skills and dedication to high quality service standards.

  • Project planning, management skills, and technical event knowledge

  • Ability to set strategy, prioritize, and drive accountability to deliver outcomes in a complex environment

  • Strong partnership & influencing skills to drive a shared purpose and deliver outcomes, leveraging relationships and technical expertise across the organization

  • Demonstrates ability to operate in a cross-functional team environment and willingness to give assistance to coworkers in order to achieve organizational goals

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to creatively assess business impact of key decisions

  • Change oriented and adaptable - Actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
