Job Description:

Reporting to the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization (BWPO) Program Director, the BWPO Project Manager II will implement and administer a variety of key initiatives related to Faculty Development and Wellbeing and EHR Optimization, Care Innovation and Population Health. The Project Manager II will reside on the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization (BWPO) Brigham Care Strategies and Innovations (BCSI) team and contribute to the strategic plan and be accountable for operational efforts focused on the advancement of strategic priorities for the Brigham Health (BH) Family.

As a part of his/her responsibilities related to strategic and operational implementation, the Project Manager II will work directly with clinical and administrative leaders both on the Brigham Care Strategies and Innovations (BCSI) team, as well as across Brigham Health and Mass General Brigham. The Project Manager II will offer standard project management support including the development and documentation of project plans, timelines and progress reports documenting the progress toward goals. In addition, s/he will take the lead in facilitating key workgroups, steering committees, and leaders to design programs and move key initiatives forward. The Project Manager II will work directly with clinical and administrative leadership within the BWPO and BWH and at a departmental level to ensure development of initiative strategies, through implementation and execution well as successful evaluation.

In addition to these specific programs and project based responsibilities, the Project Manager II will exhibit the following core competencies in his/her work, as well as when actively supporting the overall effort of the medical management team:

The Project Manager II will coordinate efforts within Brigham Health to ensure that information flows smoothly between the project teams, relevant steering committees or advisory boards, and PO and hospital leadership. Coordination will include the ability to utilize data as a tactical and strategic level to exhibit transparency and advance key initiatives.

S/he will have the ability and expectation to indirectly manage within a matrixed organization staff, who may work directly with him/her on initiatives but have a separate direct HR reporting relationship. Direct management responsibilities may involve partnering in the delegation of work to more junior team members, as well as management of these resources to meet deadlines and expectations. Indirect management responsibilities include providing feedback to the direct HR supervisor for the annual performance review and competency model and providing coaching and mentorship.

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, project management, including the development and documentation of project plans, timelines, and progress reports; data collection, tracking, and analysis; dashboard creation and maintenance; staffing meetings and programs
  • Collaborate with the Medical Directors, Sr. Project Managers, Data Analysts and other team members to develop and track measures of success for BWPO initiatives aimed at population health management, care innovation and physician engagement. Examples of these BWPO initiatives, include but are not limited to faculty development and wellbeing and EHR optimization, care innovation and population health efforts.
  • Work with senior staff to ensure communication and smooth information flow between involved parties, including but not limited to team members, Physicians, BH leadership, and PHS staff
  • Produce, regularly distribute, and present key data and strategies highlighting the progress of assigned program and project initiative, to the team members and senior leadership/sponsors

  • Facilitate workgroup and leadership meetings, including preparing meeting materials, sending out agenda, completing meeting minutes, communicating effectively with members, and influencing leadership to drive initiatives forward
  • Support the communication of the accomplishments of the team and initiatives including, but not limited to:
  • Collaborating with the Medical Directors, Director, Manager, and Sr. Project Manager to design messages, materials, data, etc. for leadership presentations, budget conversations, and/or BWHC communication vehicles
  • Coordinating with internal BCSI team resources or when needed external resources to facilitate the publication or presentation of project results, successes, etc.

  • Liaise with leaders across the Brigham and MGB, as well as across any external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, affiliates) to develop, implement, and/or support software or technology related to BCSI initiatives; develop statements of work and changes in scope documents, facilitate invoice processing
  • Work collaboratively with other BCSI staff to execute on work by establishing transparency around roles and responsibilities; delegating work within the scope of these roles; and coaching and mentoring, when applicable
  • Annually reflect on competencies included in the BWPO BCSI Team Competency Model and engage with supervisor to create an action plan for those competencies that may require further development
  • Other duties, as assigned by Sr. Project Manager, Manager, Assistant/Associate Medical Directors, Executive Director of Faculty Development and Wellbeing and Population Health Management, and/or BWPO Chief Medical Officer
  • Bachelor's degree required,
  • Three to five years project management experience required; healthcare project management experience preferred
  • Proven track record in delivering outstanding customer service
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing working relationships in a matrix structure
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
