Curry College School of Nursing offers several programs: Traditional BS in Nursing; Accelerated Second-Degree BS in Nursing; RN to BS completion; and an MSN with two tracks: education and administration. The curriculums are based on Quality and Safety Education in Nursing competencies. The Curry College Baccalaureate Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Job Description:

Curry College School of Nursing is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2021. The faculty must be able to teach a variety of didactic and simulation lab courses to primarily prelicensure baccalaureate students with options to teach courses in the RN to BS and MSN programs. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach behavioral health courses and/or has experience with simulation.

The Assistant Professor's responsibilities will include teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online didactic courses as needed and implementing simulation activities for a wide variety of clinical courses, debriefing, and evaluating simulation- based student-learning. Additionally, the Assistant Professor is expected to adhere to College expectations for teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with the rank of Assistant Professor.

Candidates must have current knowledge and experience of standards and practices involving simulation pedagogy and teaching online; Knowledge and ability to lead organizational change; Experience in leading projects; Current knowledge of clinical nursing care; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work with diverse learners; Ability to work with new technology and software; Strong organizational skills; and the ability to move mannequins and other related equipment.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An earned Doctorate in Nursing or a Doctorate in a related field with an MS in Nursing (ABD considered with completion date before August 2021);
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level;
  • An unrestricted Massachusetts RN license or eligibility for Massachusetts RN licensure;
  • Current CPR Certification;
  • Ability to move manikins and other equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical or teaching experience in behavioral health;
  • A minimum of one (1) year of simulation experience is required; Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is preferred.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
