ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Selects products for tests at specified stages and tests products for variety of characteristics such as dimensions, performance, material defects and visual inspection to approved drawing and/or quality samples.
  • Records into computer test data and statistical quality control (SPC) measurements and maintain filing system of documents.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, sketches, procedures and confers with management or quality assurance/regulatory and engineering staff to determine compliance to quality requirements.
  • Enters data into ERP system relative to inspections, Device History Records and inventory control
  • Interfaces with manufacturing and shipping/receiving departments to determine their needs and help resolve non-conformances.
  • Interface with Purchasing, planning, marketing and receiving to coordinate inspection priorities and work load.

  • Gives and welcomes constructive feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Performs tests on parts or products to measure performance. Use of mechanical measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers and an optical comparator.
  • Advise other inspectors as necessary
  • Maintains and records information necessary for Integra York monthly management reports
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

  • Education: High school diploma required
  • Experience: Minimum 5-year experience
  • Technical experience and experience in the use of mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread/plug gages, scales and hardness tester).
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Certifications: ASQ certified quality inspector preferred but not required
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate computer and keyboard skills which include some exposure to spreadsheet software.
  • Must always be able to observe company policies and safety procedures .
