SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of plant facilities and equipment, and the troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and installation of production equipment, components or auxiliary equipment.  The Facilities / Maintenance Technician must be able to perform basic construction, plumbing, and electrical work on plant facilities using hand and power tools and troubleshoot production or facilities equipment and report to the Site Facilities Leader.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Execute and monitor preventative maintenance program for production equipment, building, and grounds.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Maintain records in accordance with SOPs and Protocols.
  • Coordinate procurement of maintenance equipment, service repair parts, and supplies as required.
  • Solicit professional services as required to maintain equipment, building, and grounds.
  • Make facilities and equipment and repair/replacement recommendations to management.
  • Operate within assigned budget and provide documents to support expenditures.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by management.

 


DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. Desired: 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of apprenticeship in related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in facilities and / or industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Strong electrical background is preferred. Experience in reading blueprints and a schematic drawing is preferred.

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

  • Standard hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use a computer to write reports using word processing (Microsoft Word), send email (Microsoft Outlook), and perform Internet searches using a standard web browser (Internet Explorer), use a telephone, and copy machine as well as other general office equipment.
