Family Engagement Counselor

Summary : As a member of the multidisciplinary clinical team,
the Licensed Family Engagement Counselor reports to the Director of
Mental Health Services. - S/he is responsible for creating family
engagement programming, providing consultative support and training
to Guild employees, and providing case management and individual,
group and family therapy. - An ideal candidate must have strong
clinical skills with an emphasis on family support groups/therapy
case management and trauma-informed care.
Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and Develop
Trauma-Informed Treatment Plans in alignment with Individualized
Education Plans (IEP) and DCF Caring Together plans.
Execute treatment plans by providing individual, group, and family
therapy using evidence-based practices.
Provide crisis management to students in distress including
supporting student teams with de-escalation of individuals,
partnering with community support providers, and facilitating
communication with internal and external team members. Engage in
de-escalation of individuals.
Document clinical practice - and maintain records through
completion of session notes, consultation notes, IEP planning and
progress reports, DCF Caring Together plans and progress reports,
assessments/3 year re-evaluations, and parent/guardian
communication logs. Maintain clinical records relevant to treatment
(current release forms, psychological assessments, and diagnostic

necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via
certification through Guild / CPI)
Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field.
Licensed or licensed-pending as LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC in the state
of Massachusetts. - Training or experience with a population with
intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental
health diagnoses and/or social-emotional challenges.
Experience in completing assessments and developing, writing,
implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of mental health
Experience in facilitating parent support groups and individual,
group and family therapy.
Knowledge of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and
Care (DEEC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and
Department of Children and Families is preferred
Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as
necessary, including working with Mobile Crisis Team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
A valid driver's license
Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
background check requirements .
