to the best of my knowledge.Job DescriptionOBJECTIVESAs part of a
team, in this role a successful candidate will provide laboratory
based cellular biodistribution support to the global Drug
Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics contribution to preclinical
discovery and development programs in support of Takeda portfolio.
This role will be responsible for executing DMPK deliverables to
propel assets from discovery to development and subsequently
through registration.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Develop the capabilities
needed to evaluate the microbiodistribution of diverse modalities,
including but not limited to lipid nanoparticles, viral vectors,
peptides, oligos, antibody conjugates, and cell therapies. Provides
biodistribution support and scientific development techniques to
support all pre-IND efforts in our Rare Diseases and Oncology Drug
Discovery Units (DDUs) and all post-IND studies for all Takeda
Therapeutic Area Units (TAUs), GI, Neuroscience, Oncology and Rare
Diseases. Plans and executes high quality in vitro and or in vivo
biodistribution assessments to understand and quantify the
distribution of diverse novel modalities. Collaborate with global
DMPK teams associated with micro and macro
distribution/pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic response
assessments to guide project teams in evaluating preclinical
assets. May mentor/develop scientists in biodistribution
techniques. Proactively engages with emerging technologies,
participates in consortia for investigation of evolving
technologies, and conducts research to improve capabilities and
understanding of diverse modality disposition. Has knowledge of how
to optimally execute outsourcing models for DMPK to balance
internal and external workload in the study biodistribution of
molecules. Builds LC-MS/MS, microscopy, PCR, ELISA, and flow-based
strategies to enable assessment and quality for successful asset
development. Partners with DMPK project representatives and leaders
with whom he/she will collaboratively guide and influence to
achieve clarity on issues, executing the work plans and providing
decision-making results. Establishes, communicates, and executes
plans resulting in advancement of Takeda's portfolio by Timely
completion of studies while maintaining high quality standards;
Managing project timelines considering risk, cost, and benefit to
Takeda; and Working within cross-functional individuals in relevant
communications, decisions and working groups as
appropriate.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Ph.D. in
Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and/or Pharmaceutical
Sciences or MS with 6-8+ years relevant experience, or BS with
8-10+ years relevant experience. Hands-on laboratory experience in
the evaluation of cellular biodistribution with primary cell
culture, 3-D systems, and co-cultures. Expertise in LC/MS,
microscopy, PCR, ELISA, and flow-based instrumentation (FACS, Flow
Cytomtery) and experience with developing LC/MS/MS, microscopy,
PCR, ELISA, and flow-based assessments. Newer techniques like in
situ hybridization, spatial transcriptome, and exosome sequencing
are a plus. Understanding of clinical relevance of biodistribution
of diverse modalities and contextualizing this data in conjunction
with other assessments of efficacy. Record of insightful
publications contributing to aspects of disposition and
microdistribution. Experience in collaboration and mentorship with
scientists and associates The candidate must be a team player with
excellent communication/interpersonal skills. Proven ability to
work independently and handle effectively multiple projects Ability
to articulate and establish processes that have cross-functional
impact and drive decision-making within a cross-functional team
structure Ability to work in a virtual setting/across time-zones,
i.e., making effective use of communication tools (WebEx,
Telepresence, telephone and video conferencing, etc.) Management of
multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously Excellent
organizational skills Effective presentation skills - create and
deliver presentations with appropriate messaging and focused
