Students have an exciting opportunity to gain exposure in Citizens Bank's media relations department as part of a summer internship. The intern will gain experience in media strategy, content creation and project management.

The intern will be given the opportunity to develop their professional and creative skills by applying skills acquired in school in a business setting. In this position, the intern will learn about Citizens' Consumer, Commercial and Community public relations programs, the financial services industry and how to engage and build relationships with the media. There will also be opportunities to interact with our Social Media & Internal Communications teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Supporting team members in the execution of strategic communications programs designed to advance key corporate and business unit priorities.

+ Helping coordinate media interviews, speaking opportunities and internal meetings in order to advance the company's earned media program.

+ Helping enable collaboration between the Media Relations team and other communications discipline, including the Internal Communications and Social Media teams.

+ Aiding in media monitoring and research

Qualifications

+ Working toward an undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.

+ Rising Senior highly preferred (May 2023 graduate)

+ Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

+ Creative thinker who can share ideas and see initiatives through from start to finish

+ Can-do attitude and willingness to learn

+ Resourceful, self-starter who thrives in a changing, fast-paced environment

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities

+ Attention to detail

+ Knowledge of AP style guide and experience writing web copy, preferred

+ Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and social media platforms primarily LinkedIn and Twitter
